best place to get bottled water and gatorade

So this year we will have a rental car (we are headed to IOA) and we will have the deluxe dining plan. Usually I order about $80 worth of stuff from Garden Grocer, but I think we only will need a case of water and some gatorade. Does anyone have a convenient place to stop on the way from the airport to the Carribbean Beach hotel that we could stop really quick and pick them up??

Thanks!

This time next week we will be in the MK!:cheer2:

I would suggest Brita bottles (about$8 each) over the case of water. They have a filter built in and you can get cold water from any quick service dining location. An added benefit is that you can take them through airport security empty and then fill them once you are through. With airport prices being what they are, this will cover half the cost of the bottle.

Filters should be replaced every couple of months but they only cost about $3.00. Our Britas go everywhere with us and have paid for themselves several times over.

That said, there is a Super WalMart right on SR535 that will have whatever you need.

If that's all you need, take the 417 route from the airport to WDW and get off at exit six. There is a CVS on your left as you head towards WDW from there.

Great suggestion. Will they fill them directly at the QS locations or do you need to transfer the water from the cup they give you.

We tend to get sick from the water in Florida. Has anyone with this same problem found that this doesn't happen with the Brita bottles?

I'd like to know as well if the Brita filter fixes the sick Florida water situation..

They will give you water in a cup. You can also fill your bottles at water fountains.

We have never gotten sick from Florida water so I can't help with this one.

It does, indeed. The only place where we noticed any "taste" to the water was in the MK, but it was slight and much better than without the bottle. Everywhere else the water tasted like bottled water.

The filter bottles removes the yucky taste. But it is not a sterilizer- it will not remove the normal microbes in the water. This is frequently what upsets newcomers stomachs. There's nothing wrong with the water from a health and safety standpoint, but the microbes are different from the ones your body is used to . Hence the GI upset.

If you tend to have a problem when travelling, it's probably still a good idea to use bottled water.

PS: for the OP- as well as the places already mentioned, any of the Hess stations on site or at DTD will have bottled water and Gatorade as well. There is also a Publix nearby.

Thank you everyone! Since we are on the deluxe dining, we have been getting extra waters with our meals at our resort because we use our mugs. We r also asking for drinks "to go" at the restaurants.

Gatorade is a Pepsi product not Coke, so just like Mt Dew, you won't find it at the Hess stations on property. You will find Powerade.

In order to do this, don't you have to use a TS credit for CS meal? How do the restaurants give you "to go" drinks? Just in paper cups with lid and straw? Surely they're not giving you bottled drinks to go in addition to the drinks you've already had w/your meal??? unless, you're using a TS credit for your CS meal and using your mug for your drink... that, I get.

If you have a BJ's membership there is one at Millennia Mall (you can see it from I-4). That may be slight detour from the Airport. Connected to it is a BJ's Liquor store (which we do not have in NC).

There you can get cases of water, gatorade and other libations.

We stock up on all of the above, plus our groceries for the week before arriving at the DVC resort.

If you don't want to bother with stopping, I have read of plenty of people on here that have ordered a case of bottled water from Walmart, CostCo, etc. and had it shipped directly to the resort. I've never done it, but it would be an option if you don't want to bother with stopping/hunting down a store. I see Walmart.com carries Gatorade... Seems like most say they place the order a couple of days before they leave for WDW.
