Righito. Tickets are booked for the 28th Feb.

LOOKS LIKE DISNEY WORLD & Disneyland 2013. At WDW we are staying a split stay ay the boardwalk and animal kingdom lodge. I have never stayed deluxe before.

We bought DVC club point so we could afford to stay at these deluxe resorts. They look amazing.

Disneyland we are staying across the road at the park vew?? ( Thanks to Sams help )

Roll call for Feb/March 2013 disney

we really enjoyed our stay at the tropicana in LV. it's down near the airport, so cheap cab ride (less than $10), it's pretty smoke free and has just been renovated, and the rooms are all nicely furnished. as it's away from the central drag of the strip, you get less of the 'flyers' handed out when you're walking along, but it's only a 10 min walk or less, depending on your walking speed to ceasars, the flamingo, TI, the venetian etc. the day spa is fabulous, and it's across from mgm and NYNY which have great priced eats/entertainment.

serendipity 3 is located outside caesar's but still in the grounds. i highly recommend the frozen hot chocolate & desserts. they're famous for a reason. they seem overpriced at first (and the regular food is) but for what you get in a frozen hot chocolate/sundae, it's well worth $8-10. it's also a nice place to sit outside and just people watch on the strip. the flamingo is directly opposite and a really pretty mural decorates it's outside, so it's a nice area to just stop and enjoy yourself.

Alicia, We're staying at the Tropicana in LV. Glad to hear it's good.

Karlie, we were going to stay at Tenaya Lodge in Yosemite, its looks gorgeous but it was a bit exy or us (once I worked out everything else!) so we have 2 nights in Oakhurst to explore the surrounds and Mariposa Grove from there and then 1 night at the lodge at the falls to explore in the Valley and also leave out the other side the next day. All accommodation is pretty exy in Yosemite!

Sammy how much is $$$$, is that around the $200 a night?

alicia1506, did you need to book far in advance to stay there? :surf web: Need to take a look at that one.

Karen, I can't believe how cheap your tickets where. :worship: Your my disney idol.lol.

Karlie, closer to $250+ can't remember exactly. Im not at home to check. but the time of year you go it should be cheaper! I love the cottages at Tenaya, real log cabin types.

I REALLY want to do Yellow Stone next time, that will be my bargaining to get DH back to the states! :thumbsup2

we emailed their guest relations manager -- nicole marshall -- about 6 mths before our trip to get some great rates... retail rates were around $200 a night, we got most nights for $79 and the fri/sat nights were around $99, so all up, our 5 night stay cost us less than $450, which we thought was a total bargain, especially as it was nice and renovated. they also do this thing where they pump vanilla/coconut scented stuff into the AC so the place smells fresh & tropical all day long... it's not in the rooms or elevators, but it is in the hallways/common rooms. it's not overpowering, but it made the place feel a little more welcoming & not like some seedy casino. they do have a casino floor, but it's not very big at all, which was a selling point for us, and they have the most amazing frozen yoghurt place inside their food gallery, so we pigged out on late night frozen yoghurt.. they sell it by weight, and it's totally self-serve. we got a giant tub for like ... $5 or something. it was awesome :)

i would sign up for their facebook page and their website deals to get advance notice on the cheap rates. they also have some promos in their emails they have been sending out so happy to forward those if you pm me their email address, and i'll give you nicole's email address as well so that you can contact her & see what rates she can offer you...

we really loved it there!!

from memory, we booked & put down a 1 night's deposit around 3 mths before we went, but didn't actually pay til we got there.

be warned: they charge to your c/card on file a $500 security deposit. they do not put this on any of the info, and it's not on their booking system/website or terms and conditions .. i even asked and they said they don't charge a security deposit... turns out they consider it a 'preauthorisation' ... grr. terminology. so learn from our issues and make sure you have an extra $500 clear, cause we used a travel money card without the extra $500 (cause we didn't know) and they thought we couldn't pay for the room and got shirty with us... lesson learned... always have extra available on the card in vegas!! the security deposit is usually refunded within a few days after checkout...

also, for the girls going to vegas, if you want one of those great big drinks, get it in the giant pilsner, not the yard glass...

in the yard glass, they put all the alcohol in the bottom and then fill it with the slushy mix, and it's impossible to mix the alcohol into the slushy... plus the giant pilsner is practically the same volume but like $10 cheaper and a great souvenir... we got ours from treasure island :)

Thanks girls. I find it better to ring resorts and motels before booking. I try not to rush into things. Last trip in the USA I booked with out waiting and paid full price online when I could of waited for a deal. Some of our holiday falls on easter holidays, so i might not play the waiting a see approach around that time.

That Vegas motel sounds awesome. I have a friend in the USA that lives in LV. She sends me alot of Gap. I meet her on a forum about 3-4 years ago. She offered for us to stay with her, but theses casinos strip motels look fantastic.

yay for the under 6 month dance!!

we leave 4th sept 2013 (so just under 1 year for us) providing i can get the others on the trip to sign off on the date, and that when i get a job they agree to give me the time off...

if you have any questions about vegas, i'm happy to help if i can :thumbsup2

Hi everyone,

I don't quite make it into your thread but we are heading to NY/WDW in late March 2013. I am super excited as we have never been to New York or WDW and look forward to booking our trip. I have so far booked and paid for all of our flights (Delta and Virgin) and am procrastinating over which moderate resort to stay at but am leaning towards POFQ or POR.

I love reading these forums and look forward to getting to know you.

Steph :wave2:

I was just reading about a visa deal on room rates in Feb 2013. I think they are announced on the 10th October.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF FREE DINING WILL HAPPEN IN FEB? I have heard it usually does.

I dont know about fd in feb but there is a free dining 2013 thread in the dining forum and there seem to be a lot of people holding out for it to be released in feb.

I just read a tr from feb 2011 and the tr mentioned being on the fd plan so i would infer that there is usually an offer for that time of the year...

Usually there is, but usually its offered by now. :coffee: The UK has all the special deals ATM. Im just trying to work out if to buy points or sit back a prey for a deal to happen.

Can you go through a uk travel agent to take advantage of the uk deals maybe?

Work is sending me to a trade show in Anaheim in January so naturally I'll be making a visit to DLR. I'm taking a couple of weeks to visit my mum so will stay an extra day or two in Anaheim before heading to Toronto.
