Half Off Theme park tickets,,,

I posted my comment on their park hopper offer as that was the one that my college friend claimed. I know I saw another comment on that same offer that was along the same lines as mine, so if it was one of you DISers, thanks!!!! I also reported them to FB as a scam, so we'll see if FB will do anything about it. It may not be illegal in CA (its stupid that its not) but it is against Disney policy, and I don't want innocent people who may be trying to save money at any point to get screwed over.

ETA -I just saw a comment in their regular comment section about this, so thank you if that was you BryANDJessMom!!!!!! The more that we make people aware, the less people will be taken in by this and have problems at the parks.

Thanks Mel522!!!! Hopefully they realize they won't get away with this. Now if only TDA would either go with everyone has a photo on their hopper cards or something like WDW's fingerprint scanners. I know that will take time and money to switch over, but if they want to keep their client base that wants more that 5 day hoppers and cut "businesses" like these off at the pass, they need to do something soon.

This was my post under one of their ads:
A company like this is the reason why Disneyland has stopped selling longer length tickets AND why now they have begun to ID people entering the parks. Disneyland DOES NOT allow rental of their tickets and this company is essentially screwing over those of us that legitimately buy our tickets by Disney having to increase the amount they now charge. If you want to buy from this company, be aware that more and more people have now been having their tickets confiscated upon arrival at the park. For all you asking about Florida, they cannot and will not ever be able to sell in Florida as the state has made it ILLEGAL to resell unused tickets.

You're welcome...I will check back periodically...I would think people will read comments before purchasing...and will think twice!!!!

Wonderful comment Rosie!!!!! I just saw this on their page and wandered over here to see if it was a result of this page. We DISers have a lot of consumer power (see BlackJackDelta's thread on Park Vue Inn) and hopefully we can spread the word to not use these so called businesses! :cool1:

Just out of curiosity, I searched for others, and there are a lot of these kinds of companies on Facebook. I also posted on a few of their sites. It is companies like these that are forcing us to pay more and taking away are ability to spend more days in the park, so we need to fight back (or at least annoy the heck out of them)

As someone who loved the longer length tickets and was personally told on the phone by a CM the reason they stopped selling them was due to fraud, this company makes me insane!! I also emailed the information on to Disney. Not sure what they can do or if they can do anything about it, but I thought it was worth a try!

Here's too wishing they go away! :wizard:

ITA!!!! Maybe you could post some of the other pages? (Not sure if that is against DIS policy or not). I just found out about this one because of this thread and my college friend claiming the offer. Its wrong what they are doing and we have the opportunity to try to do something about it even if it is just spreading the truth so other people won't get taken in. At least until TDA finds an overarching solution that puts a stop to this.

Unfortunately there are many sites out there. I have posted on the FB page referenced here (I just checked and my comments are deleted!), and also on one called DANI'S DECADENT DEALS that is promoting the halfprice site. As we know, there are people who are willing to walk on the edge to save a few bucks (and I know it can be a substantial amount if you have a family to buy for). After all, don't most of us look for ways to save money to feed our Disney fix?

I would like to hear that Disney is ID checking most people going thru the gates - a little of that would slow down their business alot. If tickets are truly non-transferable then Disney needs to be the enforcement.

Looks like they a busy as beavers deleting all posts that are negative to their little business.......

I just checked the FB and everyone's comments have been deleted. Somehow mine on the park hopper offer managed to make it through but we should keep posting. Just as Mel suggested, at the very least, it irritates them and hopefully people will see it before they delete them. We should also report them as being a scam.

Great idea Rosie!!! As the "business" seems to be deleting all our comments about the truth, going directly to Disney is a great idea. I know that Disney can't do anything directly about them, but it will let them know that they should keep up checking IDs and requiring people to sign the back of their tickets. Maybe add in a comment about adding photos to passes or utilizing WDW's fingerprint scanners.

Don't give up writing comments and reporting to FB that they are scamming consumers.

Thanks Maleficent for posting another site! I know that we are essentially trying to stop the tide from coming in but if our comments are seen by at least one person who realizes what's going on and doesn't buy from them, then I feel like we have done well. I understand wanting to save a few bucks here and there but I can't imagine going to the turnstiles with these tickets, having them confiscated, and staring at my kids' faces when I explain that we can't get in.

ITA agree that Disney needs to be the enforcer in this battle. I think Rosie's idea of emailing Disney with these "companies'" FB page's and explaining that they need to keep up with the checking of IDs, signing names on the tickets, and questioning suspicious ticket issues, in order to put a stop to this. And as I suggested above, also throw in the suggestion of finding a more permanent solution to put a stop to this, like WDW's fingerprint scanners.

Looks like they a busy as beavers deleting all posts that are negative to their little business.......

LOL! I just saw all of the comments we posted have "mysteriously" disappeared. :confused3 :lmao: Keep it up. It will at least irritate them to no end and we may be able to save some innocent people from making a horrible mistake.

If what they're doing isn't illegal, I imagine Disney can do nothing except make it harder for them to succeed by changing their ticketing practices.

I bought a beautiful but homemade Fantasmic DVD off ebay and asked the seller later how come Disney didn't make him remove the sale. He said they were fine with it, since they don't offer their own DVD of the show. Not sure if it's true but he was convincing and had been selling them for years. Maybe Disney didn't used to care about the 'ticket sharing', figuring it's better to have any body in the park that day (buying food, etc.) than no body. I doubt it.

I just did a search for Disneyland Tickets and a bunch came up. I also googled it and found more.

I have reported the page to Facebook as a scam. Even if it is not illegal in Cali, if it is against Disney's terms of use, it is still not allowed.

What I don't get is, if this really is an issue at Disneyland, why don't they install reasonable measures against this fraud such as fingerprint scanners or photographs on the tickets? At least checking ID is a good start!

They can delete and I can keep posting!! Yes, please encourange Disney to step up the ticket checking and ID'ing. Also, to make some progress such as fingerprint scanners...it can only help!

I am having more fun with this than I should admit.......

They have now blocked me from their facebook page - I think I will use my daughter's page to go back in :rotfl2:
