The Force is Strong in This One: SWW and Celebration VI, Disney Done Differently

Tink, How BLESSED I am to read of the wonderful time you have had this week! I can't think of anyone who needed it more!! So, is there anything SW JJ has been wanting he doesn't have??

Judy, it's been 2 week of vacation!! This week and last week, dh has had off work!! Star Wars Celebration was just the icing on the cake!!

I have to laugh. There is ALWAYS something that he is wanting in Star Wars. But if you are looking to gift him with something when you come, he would really like empty film canisters or tabs from soda cans. He is gathering these items to make a craft. He's also looking for colored plastic lids. He wants to make star fighters like he did at Celebration VI out of recycled things.

This is one he started at Celebration VI, he is looking for more shiney stuff and lids to glue onto it.

WOO HOO!!!! That is so AWESOME. I didn't realize it was TWO weeks!

I don't have any film canisters, nor plastic lids...but how many soda can tops does he want? We collect them for the Ronald McDonald House and I have 1000's literally!

I bet I have shiney stuff too...I have girls....any close-ups of the lids...Is that medicine bottles? I just threw out a bunch of empty ones....

LOVE this pic!!!!

Yes, that had prescription bottles, wires and tubing, etc. Goofy carries a mean glue gun. That was the first Anakin had ever seen a glue gun and he thought that was awesome.

will look around to see if I can anything he could use!

On June 7, 2011, we purchased our tickets for Celebration VI. The anticipation grew for over a year. In the back of my mind I couldn't help but wonder if this Celebration would live up to our expectations.

When Celebration accomodations first were announced, I booked 4 nights at the Hilton Orlando. Over that year's time, I changed that reservation to Pop Century and after a fun July 4th weekend, we changed it to a 2 bedroom villa at the Palms. And changed our dates for Pop Century from the end of August to mid-September. Now we have a Disney stay to look forward to!

A couple weeks before Celebration Anakin and I got hair cuts.

Also a couple weeks before Celebration the schedule for Celebration VI was released and we began to plan our days. Since we were newbies, we didn't take into account how we would get from one panel to the next or the time involved in waiting and transporation from one place to another. All things we would quickly catch on to.

I had sent an email for the Celebration Special needs badge, and didn't hear a word so I called a week before Celebration. The Reed Exhibitions employee was very helpful. She had me forward to her the email I had sent a week ago. She then forwareded to the next person. She told me she would respond back to me once she hears a response. She told me to give it a day or two.

It wasn't even a couple hours and I got an email from Chris Malico the Event Support Coordinator himself! Complete with a telephone number and fax to call without hesitation if I had any questions. I was instructed to print out the attatched letter and to bring it to the Attendee Registration desk when we arrived on site. We were all set to go! Which is where we will pick up on the next installment.

Celebration, ended a week ago today. In fact, last week at this time we were in the Exhibition Hall trying to squeeze in whatever we could; one last round of the 501st Shoot-A-Trooper, some last minute shopping, last minute photo ops, saying goodbye to some friends we made during SWW. Then came laundry, cleaning the costumes, storing them for the next Star Wars event, downloading pictures, and memories that will last a life time!

Welcome along to another Saga of our Disney Done Differently, this Celebration Done Differently.

Sounds like Celebration went well

It was one of our best family vacations!

Thanks.

He was to get a special needs pass and one of us would be allowed to escort him. It would allow for extra time to get seated. Most of the handicap seating was in the back of the theater which was perfect if we had to make an early exit. Day 1 was quite an adventure as we had no idea where we were going or what to do as there was very little direction from the convention staff.

Thanks. It's been a long time since I liked my hair.

The amount of things to do was overwhelming. From open to close there was something scheduled. Choosing which to do and which to skip was really hard. But these are the kind of difficult decisions we'd take any day over some of the health care decisions we had to make in the past?

Michelle, your hair looks so cute!! I have been planning to get to mine cut but I haven't found a style I really want.

We were pleasantly surprised when we checked into the motel and found out that we were in an upgraded room again! This time we booked a 2 bedroom villa, the upgrade was a second bathroom!

We had room to spare! The first bedroom had a king size bed, nice large closet, and tv

The 2nd bedroom had two double beds and a tv. There was a nice long hallway to the 2nd bathroom and the bathroom, closet and sink were actually behind the beds.

There was an exit door in the 2nd bedroom. We didn't like this with Anakin, because he could go outside and we wouldn't know. So we all tried to keep an eye on him. Even so, he managed to be in the room and out of sight. It was the best room for a kid to play hide and go seek. Not the best room for a parent to keep tabs on their child. There was a lockoff to the 2nd bedroom, so we could lock him out of access from that part.

Up next...lunch! But where?

The villa looks great, so spacious! :thumbsup2 I love the picture of Anakin plopped down on the couch, he looks right at home! :goodvibes Quick exits are always a good thing (referring to Celebration here, not the door in his room:scared1:) if you have all sorts of issues. I think it really helps lessen the anxiety of a situation if you know where an exit is. ::yes::

I am considering a bob for my hair. I need to decide and do something before Saturday. I have a wedding that I HAVE to go to. Yuck!!

What a spacious room!! Wow!!

love your new hair cut Tink!!! Anakin is looking mighty cute too!

:yay: for the great big villa! lots of room to spread out!

can't wait to hear all about the celebration!
