Thinking about cancelling Le Cellier re: kids menu

We are going during FD but had planned to pay OOP for our Le Cellier early dinner. My only concern is that the kids' menu has nothing our young children would enjoy. I thought about feeding them CS beforehand and trying to keep them quiet with chocolate "moose" while my husband and I have our meal, but maybe we should just cancel altogether?

On another thread, someone mentioned getting hot dogs for children at Le Cellier once, even though it's not on the menu. The lunch menu has cheese pizza - could they order that at dinner? I'm just nervous our kids will get bored early and we'll end up rushing through what I would like to enjoy as a leisurely meal.

I believe the pizza and hot dog are actually ON the kids dinner menu now...there's also a pasta that you could have the sauce left off of and add butter! There's also fries, and I've also managed a side of plain mashed potatoes for myself after I had an emergency dental situation. :P

Since you're paying OOP, is there an app they would enjoy or could they share from your plates?

Personally, I would never order anything that isn't on the actual menu. Just seems to me if there's nothing I want on that menu, I should go elsewhere. And if my kids won't eat it - I would do as you said and get them CS beforehand and just a yummy dessert there.

But that's me...I know there are plenty of people who do this and likely are accomodated. I just can't imagine going into Pizza Hut and asking for a burger....an exhaggeration of course but along the same lines.

If you're not paying for their meals with the Dining Plan, they don't have to stick to the kids' menu. Even if you're using the Dining Plan for the rest of the trip, it might be worth paying for them OOP at that one meal if it means they can order what they like.

You are thinking of cancelling a LeCellier reservation??? You better lie down and take a few aspirin, you must be feeling ill. :rotfl2:

I have found most Disney restaurants to be more than accommodating with children's requests. Plus, it never hurts to ask for something that is often found on the disney kid's menus, but is not on that specific restaurant's menu.

Le Cellier is by far our least favorite signature dinner. But, if you've never been there, you should go to make your own opinion about whether it's worth all the hype.

We always have things to entertain our DD while we are eating at signatures (or anywhere actually). Whether it's a new princess coloring book, having her look for hidden mickeys from her seat, playing/watching movie on iphone/ipad w/ headphones, etc. We just can't expect her to be as interested in a leisurely, relaxing signature meal as us! :confused3

We were just there a few weeks ago and DD7 and DD10 both loved it. They both got the kids menu steak but with side substitutions. I honestly was trying to convince them to get some of the "adult" side as their meal (so I could try more new things myself!), so that is always another option for kids. For example, there is a mac and cheese side. Both also absolutely loved the cheese soup and were very impressed with the pretzel bread, which our waitress re-filled a couple of times. In short, plenty of options for kids, and if all else fails, the kids menu/placemat has a few activities on it to keep them busy for a little while. Do NOT cancel!

I don't understand why you would keep an ADR when you know there is nothing on the menu your children will enjoy. If you want to keep the ADR for a special night with your DH, I would look into a child club option for your children. Or I would cancel Le Cellier and find a more family friendly option.
Good Luck

We got noodles and marinara for my son and he completely polished it off, not to mention the pretzel bread. It turned out to be one of the best meals for our kids.

Agree. I'm the same way.

No, ill is how OP will feel when the bill for the food arrives and you realize what that so so meal cost

I agree! Sorry but i dont think LC should be a signature restaurant. Really not worth the cost or 2TS credits! JMHO.
