Favorite restaurant on monorail line?

What's your favorite one? We have a cm ADR for our mk night but I really want to change it. I've been checking for ohana for weeks now and can't get it. My family all picks a fav meal or one they want to try. Mk is my night to pick.

Don't give up on O'hana, you may find one. It is my favorite there, but I wouldn't want to eat there and then go to MK. We'd be too full. What about the Wave?

In order:
Victoria & Albert's
California Grill
Citricos
Kona
Narcoossee's
Wave
Ohana
Chef Mickey's
(Have not eaten at Grand Floridian Cafe or 1900 Park Fare in their current iterations. Only in their former lives).

Kona Cafe. Although it doesn't have the "excitement" of Ohanas, the food and service is great - its a must do on every trip for us.

I'd book a reservation for Kona, or, if your budget could stand it, Narcoosee's or California Grill. I wouldn't give up on 'Ohana. You may be able to get your hotel concierge to score you a reservation. And, in the worse case, you could always go to the Poly when the restaurant opens and join the "standby line".

California Grill is great-everything about it.

I won't go back to Ohana. I just didn't care for it. I don't understand all the hype.

California Grill is absolutely amazing. If you cannot get 'Ohana, Kona Cafe would also be a great choice.

I have a couple of suggestions from our recent trip - we found the monrail resorts really good for transport links / MK days:

Narcoosees - easily the best meal of our trip - steak you could cut with the butter knife and (according to my 6 year old DD who is something of an expert) the best bread she'd ever had:rotfl2: But, it is signature dining so 2 x credits required each

1900 Park Fare - the Cinderella Happily Ever After Meal - I loved the character interaction here - my girls loved the step-sisters / Lady Tremain and the buffet was excellent.

The Wave - we booked this as a last minute replacement for Raglan Road. Long story short, based on recent reviews & menu, we had 2 reservations at RR but after the first visit, opted to see what else was available on the night of the sencond ADR as we weren't that impressed... It was so much better than we expected - setting was lovely, relaxed atmosphere, good menu, excellent CM's, lovely mojito's :thumbsup2

citricos has been my favorite and the most consistent with food and service for us. we like ohana's, narcoossee's, and california grill but we've had both service and food issues at one time or another with different visits...not enough to keep us from going back but enough to keep them from topping the list. we also include the restaurants at wilderness lodge when we look at the monorail area resorts because we do a restaurant in this area on our mk night...and you can take the boat or bus quickly to wl and we like both artists point and whispering canyon so i'd include those as possible options.

My favorite is California Grill at the CR! The view is just beautiful, & the food is wonderful too. I'm excited to see what it will be like after the refurb. However, if you're on the DP, it's 2 TS credits.

We also like 'Ohana & Kona Cafe.

While Kona Cafe doesn't have the "atmosphere" that 'Ohana has, in my opinion, the food is just as good. DH really enjoyed the Tuna Oscar, & we got a sushi plate from the sushi bar. 'Ohana is fun, & one of my family's favorites. However, if we couldn't get an 'Ohana ADR, DH & I would be perfectly fine w/ Kona - our kids would probably miss 'Ohana though.

On my list of places of try is Narcoossee's at the GF - it's been on my list for years, but I can never seem to work it into our schedule.

I've also had a breakfast ADR scheduled at the GF Cafe for the last 3 trips & have ended up cancelling each time because we've decided we'd rather sleep in. I have another ADR scheduled there for our next trip in a couple of weeks - we'll see if we make it this time! ;)

Cinderella's Gala Feast at 1900 Park Fare looks fun too w/ the Tremaine sisters & Prince Charming, but, since we're not that crazy about buffets & already normally do 2 (Crystal Palace brunch & Chef Mickey's breakfast), I've hesitated to schedule it.

Not on the monorail line but a quick boat ride away from the MK is Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL - very fun atmosphere! It's probably my kids' favorite restaurant. We used to either do Whispering Canyon Cafe or 'Ohana - the overall experience (while one is Hawaiian & one is Western) is similar in my mind, but, now, we normally try to make room for both places in our schedule - our kids love both.

The food is not as good as 'Ohana, but it's okay, even good - we've been there when the food has only been okay, & we've been there when we've had a really good meal too - it varies at WCC.

The Wave is great place to sit at the Bar or in the lounge for drinks but DON'T EAT THERE!!! We had such a horrible experience. Our food took forever. When it finally came out, both of my parent's meals were missing! It was an awful experience. Just don't do it.

I wouldn't let one person's bad experience put you off the Wave though. We've eaten there 3x and it was very good and service was fine. Their breakfast buffet was great.
