The Official October 2013 Trip Planning Thread

NVM I see it now.
There is some kind of vacation planning app - I had it for the last trip, but I like my binder so I didn't use it then deleted it.

For shopkick - you also are looking for the store with a star in the green ball - you can collect kicks form home on these - if there is a star in it. I do it 2 times each day. Also last year if you opened the app during some commercials you would get extra kicks.

I average per day (just from daily kicks) about 7-20 kicks. Walk in kicks are best - they just started doing walk-in kicks for Target about 2 months ago - AWESOME. But the others for walk ins are Best Buy & Old Navy. If I am near them , I will do the walk in, if not, then I don't bother.

Oh, and some days they will be doing extra walk in kicks - the other day you could get 300 kicks for target walk ins.

Oh, a walk in kick is when you have the app open when you walk in to the store (the app MUST be open) you can also scan specific items at a bunch of stores.

It takes 500 kicks for $2.00
1250 for $5.00
2500 for $10.00
6250 for $25.00

I have gotten about $75 in "gift cards" since I started about a year ago, and I DO NOT scan often or do many walk in kicks, but I do check for kicks daily.

Good luck - I love this app.

I'm a bit confused. Can you explain the store with a star in the green ball in?

Hi! Joining team October! We are taking our first family trip Oct 5- 18th. We are driving and staying at Fort Wilderness campground. Our oldest will turn 6 2 weeks before we leave and our youngest will turn 3 while we are there. We will have lots of celebrating to do as my DH and I will also be celebrating our 5th year anniversary as well as his birthday.

Yep!!!! Planning a trip with my daughter and me for her "SENIOR" trip. Just her and me!!! I did this with my oldest son and loved every second. It allowed us to share a time with eachother before the rush of her senior year gets into full force. I am planning prob the end of October. I am very excited and love to plan this.
Welome - I have a senior this year also, but he doesn't like Disney, so now just me and him trip.
 I am booked for Oct 18-23 at POR.
Bringing friends and doing MNSSHP.
:yay::cheer2:
Welcome, it looks like your dates are right after mine

Glad you found it - what do you think?

Welcome - and WOW that is a ton a celebrating.

We did the MNNSHP in 2007. Let me just say (and this is just our experience): it wasn't a sold out night yet it was packed!! We didn't get to see nearly as much as we would have liked (the seven dwarves and meet & greets with villains), but the parade was really cool and so was the set-up around the haunted mansion and the Liberty Boat ride.

We are planning a 2013 trip for a week in mid-October, probably 10/12 - 10/18. We stayed in an AoA Nemo suite back in June, and everyone loved it. We'll probably do AoA again, just need to decide which theme.

Hello! I haven't even left for my September trip and I'm already planning on next year :cool1: We are currently planning on October 26-November 3rd, but could move it up a week to October 19th-27th...it will be most likely be a split stay between SSR & BLT.

Hello to the new October people. Sorry I have been getting dis on my phone lately but I will try to post everyone's dates sometime this week from the computer.

Does anyone know what the weather is like near the end of October at WDW? I want to shop some end of season sales, but I'm not sure what I should buy.

I am really pushing for October 2013! We always go in September but I hate pulling my boys out of school. So I was thinking they get 2 days off for fall break so taking them out for 3 days is better than 5! We will see! Most likely staying at POR. We stayed in AB last time so I am going to request the Mansions this time! I know it's a whole year away but I am ready to plan, plan, plan!!!!

Woo hoo for all of the October 2013 peeps..... However it looks like we are changing our dates to November 2013. So let me know who would like to start a new thread for all of the October people.

When in November, woman?!? :D Maybe we *will* be there at the same time!

LOL Yes....spellcheck can suck!

darn! :( Looks like we'll miss each other....we'll be there from the end of October (the very end - 31st) through November 9th.

We had also talked about June for Star Wars weekend but that is too hot. I know the crowds will be higher for our time but DD doesn't want to miss 8 days of school for us to go for her birthday in October. So we talked about June and Christmas but Christmas is just WAY to busy. So it look like we will leave the Wednesday the week before thanksgiving and return the Saturday after thanksgiving. This way she will only miss 4 days of school. Plus I have never been for the Christmas decorations so that will be nice.
