The Tiki Room will take Splash Mountain's place in the evening EMH lineup.

I saw that somewhere yesterday. Had to be Facebook, here or easywdw.

Googled. Looks like wdwmagic is reporting it. I must have seen something on Facebook from someone. Sorry no link. On my iPad and its too much hassle!

What in the world is going on with EMH?! Hours cut, popular rides being cut....

Also, is the monorail still not running? :confused3

I will say that Splash is a less than ideal ride to be on at 1 am in December. From experience.

But bummer trade off, looks like Space Mountain will be king of the wee hours.

I just sent a message to WDW services through their website for confirmation. I will post again when I hear something back. I HOPE it's not true.

Grrrrrr.... wish it woudn't change for a couple of weeks. Splash is our favorite late night ride. :(

Yeah I have to agree Splash Mountain at 1 AM is not a good idea. I'm guessing they chose to trade off because Splash Mountain's traffic drops once nighttime hits probably. I can see why they're trading it out for another ride but I'm not so sure Tiki Room is the right replacement.

I think that maybe the "spooky" charm might be amped up a bit at night, the way HM is for me even though it's entirely indoors. For me, experiencing HM and emerging from the ride into the dark night pluses the magic a lot. I can imagine (never having done it at night) that the storm and tiki chanting could be enhanced by this as well.

For the record, I am not a Tiki Room hater like many. I rather loved the original as a child, was disappointed as an adult (Iago/Zazu) and cannot wait to see it restored to original again in a few months. Maybe I'll give it the EMH whirl, I haven't even begun my park attack plan yet.

Wow - this may end up being the deal breaker for me about staying onsite every trip. Some of our best memories are of riding Splash at EMH.

Boo hiss, Disney, if this is true. :headache:

And for all of you Disney Deficit Defenders, go ahead and flame away! :firefight

I share your sentiments. I never thought there would come a day when I would question whether or not to stay onsite, but within a year or so, they have taken away characters in MK during EMH, will be cutting EMH by an hour each evening from next year and I doubt that Splash Mountain will be the only attraction to disappear from the evening EMH line-up. Dining plan prices have gone up, ticket prices have gone up, resort prices are up (and I can suck that up because it's the current economic climate) but taking away from the onsite privileges? Not so sure there is enough of a draw now to justify the premium.

It's not just about one ride - this is one more thing in the big picture and the onsite guests seem to be making all the sacrifices. Sucks

Don't forget they also cut the monorail access during EMH.

Hmmmmm...... I said all along they were trying to get to a point where EMH dropped in popularity and they could stop it completely "due to lack of demand"............

Tiki room? Really? Entire trips go by where we "forget" to do it! Since it's practically all animatronic, I'd guess maybe it's the attraction that requires the least amount of staff? Well, except in case of fire...........

Maybe they are doing this in anticipation of keeping the new Little Mermaid ride open during EMH? Which makes no sense, because people who want a thrill ride are likely to not want to trade Splash for LM, but I'm sure the staffing would need to come from somewhere. And people would be disappointed not to have the new stuff open during EMH.
