Prepaid Photopass + now offered at DL

I just wanted to let everyone know about my experience. We arrived on Tuesday, July 17th with no plans to go in park but we did have a reservation at Goofy's for dinner. I went to Guest Services and asked about an escort/shopping pass and was told they don't do that so I had to purchase a one day ticket for $87 and was told if I was back in one hour they would refund the money back to my card. I was back and it worked but I didn't like that charge/refund thing because some times refunds take longer to get put back by the CC company and that might tie up funds for someone who has a tight budget for their trip.

My exchange was fine. Make sure you get a receipt for PP+ because a cashier at the photoshop told me I could use that info if I lost my PP+ card. Also, I got receipts for most of my ride photos with the ride number after they added them. I checked my PP+ online when we got home and all rides with receipt or not were added. And, when in the parks I noticed way more PP photographers than I saw on my last trip. It was awesome!

Just wanted to post my experience.

Thank you for posting your experiences. That one hour pass/escort sounded a little too good to be true. It seems like it is possible but it isn't as easy as they make it sound. You're right about the refund. It seems like a charge comes through in about 10 minutes and a refund takes about 10 days.

At Ariel's Grotto, do you only get a photo with Ariel on your PP+ card or do you know if they have added more photographers to include the other princesses as they circulate throughout the room?

We were there in July and you only get the Ariel photo the rest are with your own camera. The night before from across the pier we did see the princess minnie was there at Ariels so when we went the next day our DD was hoping she would be there for lunch but she was not...

We did enjoy doing this photo pass offer, we were really able to get our $$ worth by getting the ride pictures each time...and since it was DD first time going on California Screaming the pictures are priceless...all 3 times ;)

Thanks for the info! Yes, I'm thinking the same thing with our daughters since we're planning on taking them on California Screaming for the first time too!!

I just received my photopass+ CD, only 3 days after I bought it. I'm in Oregon, but still, I thought that was pretty fast.

This is from the Disney site: http://www.facebook.com/notes/disneys-photopass-service/new-disney-photopass/10150650931518325

"Q. I have a large family—how many Disney PhotoPass+ cards will I receive?

R. Only one Disney PhotoPass+ card will be provided with each purchase. However, multiple PhotoPass cards can be accumulated during your visit, and all of those photos can be added to your account. In order to receive your Attraction and Dining photos, the PhotoPass+ card holder must be present at the time of photo capture."

Do they really enforce that the card holder has to be present at photo capture? What if my family splits up? We have little kids so that's likely. I thought I could go back before the end of the day and add the ride photo to the card.

Nevermind. Found the answer.

Q. My family may split up and go on two different Attractions however only one Disney PhotoPass+ card is provided, what can I do?

R. If your family splits up and goes on different Attractions you may save your Ride Stub with the photo # and later on stop by the Attraction to claim the photo with your Disney PhotoPass+ card. Keep in mind that photos are available in our system for only 48 hours after capture; make sure you visit the Attraction to claim your photo within that time period.

Dearest SIL bought me a PP+ for my upcoming trip! I love that it has the 350+ Disneyland images on the disc with license for personal use. That's a cool little perk before we ever go to the parks.

I ordered mine on a Saturday and received it the following Tuesday. It was sent out express. The other posts I have read have also received it within a few days.

I bought PhotoPass+ at DCA on the first day of my most recent trip (8/31-9/3). On the photopass site I can add borders to most of the pictures in my account and save it as a copy of the original. This increases the number of pictures in my account. Can I add many borders to many photos and have them all on the CD that comes with PP+?

BTW, I think PP+ is an awesome value :)

Yes. One year I added every border to every photo. Took forever to do but it was my first time and I didn't want to regret not using a border. Drastically increased my photos, but no extra charge. They had to send my photos on 2 discs.

Yes, they will all be on the CD. Also, if you want to change the size to 5x7 or 8x10 you have to do that and save it as a new photo as well. The default size of all the pics is 4x6.

hoping you can help me out. just moved to so-cal, and got an AP. We're definately planning on going at least once a month to make it cost effective. but I dont think we're planning consecutive days.

When my family was at DW 2 years ago we did photopass and got hundreds of pictures....

will photopass be effective for me? and ideas??

I don't think so. With the slight exception being if you were planning on eating at a character meal and buying the photo package at full price, then you probably could justify the $70 needed to pre-pay for the PP+. The reason PhotoCDs and PP+ packages are so cheap at DLR compared to WDW is because most of the DLR customers are like you. Much smaller market for a product such as this.

Does anyone know for sure if all the pictures they take at the Halloween Party will be able to be added to the cd? Do they have lots of photographers avail at the Party?

No one can know for sure since this is the first time the Photopass+ CD has been offered (this year).

For a regular PP card - yes. I had a few taken at a halloween party at DCA (back when it was held at DCA) and was able to look at the pictures online (didn't buy them).

So, if it was on the regular PP card, it should be on the PP+ card. They have lots of photographers available everywhere at DLR/DCA. You just have to look for them.
