Dinner at Cabanas

How is dinner at Cabanas? Service, food, atmosphere? I ask because traveling with a 2 yo may mean that there are some nights where we choose not to subject others to our little darling during a long dinner in the dining room and Cabanas may be a better option.

We ate there one night and enjoyed it. I believe the menu is a combo from the 3 MDR - service was great! :thumbsup2

plus . . . you can go anytime you want and it is much quicker!

What is the menu like at Cabanas on pirate night? Do they use the same menu as the MDR or the regular menu? Does the menu change nightly for the other nights or does it stay the same?

The menu in Cabanas for dinner is a combination of a few items from the menus being served in the other MDRs. Plus a salad bar and a sliced meat offering. I would think that on Pirate night that means the pirate menu is available in Cabanas.

Is it still a buffet set up like it is for lunch or a buffet set up like Enchanted Garden or do you order off a menu?

You order off a menu (selected items from the other MDR menus), but there is a salad bar and a sliced meat offering of some sort.

It's a sit-down table service for dinner.

On our Dream cruise, Cabanas was open for dinner from 6:30 - 8:30 every night except the first and last night. You can show up anytime between those hours.

My kids ate dinner there one night without us (we have an almost 18 year old who keeps her younger siblings in-line so don't worry, we didn't send a bunch of little kids to dine alone) on the night we ate at Remy. We dropped them off and met them just as they were leaving (and we were heading up to Remy.) They enjoyed their meal and ate almost everything (although my 9 year old complained that her Salmon Salad tasted like it had orange juice poured on it- she has the most sophiscated palate of the bunch- but the rest of them were very pleased.) The staff there was very accommadating and was great with a table full of minors.

...what is the 'dress code' for dinner in Cabanas?

In that case, I'm glad I asked...I was under the impression that Cabanas was more casual (shorts/t-shirts) every night.

ETA: Found this on the DCL website...(Guess I should have just looked there before asking): "Dress Code:
The dress code for dinner at Cabanas is cruise casual. However, you are requested to not wear tank tops, swim wear or shorts at dinnertime."
