Here's a bit of the back story. My mom is turning 70 in January, she is in good health which is super wonderful considering that she had a major heart attack 3 years ago, the Dr. told us then, she probably would never drive again, or be able to really do alot of things and lots of other negative's, Well I am happy to report that the Dr. doesn't know everything. Mom is backing driving, going shopping, completely out and about. So my Dad and I are cooking up a plan to kinda surprise her for her birthday. Mom has been hinting that she would like to go to Disney, now my dad is not a big crowd person and can get quite fussy, so he wants it to be a mother /daughter trip which is great. He said the best gift I can give her is him not going:rotfl:

Ok so with all that said. We will need to stay at a mod due to simply budget
( oldest DD is getting married :bride:in March) and the themeing at the mod's is what I know she will reallly like. She does need to take some breaks so heading back to the room mid-day is a must, and would like to keep the resort walking down so that she can save her enegry for the parks.

So Which resort would you suggest? and which building or room, and why. I need to know how close to the buses, food court , noise level in the evening.

POR is a LOT of walking, even if you are close to the food court/pool it still is a minimum 5 minute walk. It is beautiful, and I love it there, however.... it's not my favorite after the end of a long day.

CSR is to much walking too, and I wouldn't stay at CBR until they refurbish and add queen size beds instead of full.

I would stay at POFQ. Plus that way you could take the boat to POR and check it out and get the best of both worlds! :)

I was leaning that way, but.. I think she might like POR, we have never stayed there do you know anything about how much walking?

I would (and did) pick POFQ, to minimize the walking. If you still insist on POR, however, then pay extra for a preferred room which will put you closer to both the bus and main buildings. This will be one of the Alligator Bayou buildings. All of the Mansion buildings will require a fair walk to the main building.

Are the Alligator bayou rooms the one that have jsut been redone? Do you have a suggestion on which building or room? Thanks so much for the info. I am hoping for POFQ, but I am waiting for FD to come out so will see what is available? Thanks for the reminder for preferred it will be worth it.

POFQ or a preferred room at CSR or POR should be close enough to the main building and a bus stop :)

All of the rooms at POR have been refurbished in the last year. The one's you may be referring to are the Royal Guest Rooms (Princess rooms)- these are all located in 2 of the Mansion buildings.

The preferred rooms, as I said before are in Alligator Bayou- buildings 14, 15, 18, and 27. The building closest to the main building is 14, so I'd request that one, if you decide to pay the extra premium for the preferred room.
