I want to stay at AoA Sept 16 and 17 in the LM rooms. I am now booking an extra night just to drop it so I can get the room. YOu can book the 17th. You can book the 15, 16, 17. You can book the 15, 16. but you cant book the 16, 17. For some you cant book the 16 unless you have the 15th. So now I booked all three nights and in a week I will drop the 15 because I dont need it.

Although my husband says maybe something amazing will happen if you stay on the 15th the first night the LM rooms open...hmmmmm Decision......:confused3

If you could swing 3 days there, I'd do it. Sure you can book the 3 days and then drop the extra day, but I would definitely be there for opening day. On our opening day at AoA in May, they gave special items to those checking in on that day. They are one of a kind and a really wonderful keepsake. Plus it was nice to stay in a room that nobody had ever used before. I even let DD1 crawl all over the floor since I knew that the rug was clean. I'd never let him crawl around at any other resort. If he touched the ground, I clean his hands off immediately as he loves putting his fingers in his mouth alot. No worries when we were at AoA (but out of habit I still cleaned his hands).

I have done that several times in the past as sometimes the exact dates I wanted were not available, but adding a day or two at the beginning and/or end would have availability. I'm not sure why that happens, but it works great to get what you need :thumbsup2. Maybe Disney is banking on people adding the days and rather than cancelling them later, just keeping them and taking the longer trip. If there is some reasoning to that on Disney's part, it has worked on me because I have done just that if it was an option ;).

Was you opening day for the AoA or were they opening another section? What was your keepsake?

Not to burst your bubble, but somebody stayed in that room before you. They allowed CMs and other 'special people" to stay at AoA before it was open to the public. While they were used much, they weren't NEVER used at the grand opening to the public. Go back and look at some of the other threads here talking about this very subject. :)
