Dream re-routed today?

Maybe it's been said but I don't see it. I heard the Dream 8/10 sailing was going to be re-routed due to the tropical depression. Anyone know if this is true and if so what they are planning on doing? Just curious...

Hmmm..where did you hear this? We board Wed and it wouldn't appear the new Depression would impact the sailing in any way? Just curious.... :thumbsup2

Thanks,
Heather

I disembarked from the august 5th sailing today and although I cannot comment on any sort of rerouting we did spend the last two days of our cruise doing our best to avoid a storm. On our second castaway cay day (day 5) a thunderstorm rolled in at about 12:45 PM which caused the beach to be immediately closed for the remainder of the day. Heavy winds seemed to complicate taking off from the island in the evening but the nighttime journey to port canaveral was quite smooth with only minor swells and light rain. However heavy thunderstorms could be observed to the South throughout the night. Hopefully this does not significantly affect today's or any future cruises.

Thanks - I'm sorry you missed some of your 2nd Castaway Cay day. I'm sure you made the best of it! :thumbsup2
Just looks like they are swapping days:

Not a huge deal.

Thanks! ;) Did I miss the reason why? It's not a big deal - agreed - just curious. On our 6/20 Dream sailing TS Debby was already out and about. Our itinerary did not change however the majority of our day is Nassau was a complete fog and massive downpours - Captain Henry did a fantastic job getting us into port! :drive: On our sea day and Pirate Night we spent quite a bit of time dodging the storms too. On the last night coming back to Port Canaveral the winds were so fierce and gusting out of nowhere that they actually blew off the connecting door on our extended aft verandah. It snapped a major part that held the connecting part together but the worse part was that it was flapping back and forth really hard so of course it was really loud. This was around 10pm and our stateroom host was out in the hallway and came in to help. He got another stateroom host and they worked to tie it back - keep open - so it wouldn't flap all night. They were soaked! They said this had never happened before and since we were headed to Port Canaveral anyway maintenance would fix it in port in the morning instead of coming and keeping us up any longer.

I was just curious if it was weather related or another issue we weren't aware of? :goodvibes
Thanks,
Heather

Hey Heather, looks like weather-related from what I've read.

See you soon!! :cheer2:

Heather

I wonder if it could be something other than weather though. Looks like from their meet thread, they were notified on the 9th about the switch. Doesn't look like any storms are brewing...maybe a port issue or something?
