How is the Food Court at AoA (for those that have been)?

I'm really looking forward (as I think a lot of us are) to staying at the AoA on my upcoming trip and I'm hoping to get some feedback from persons that have already stayed there about the food court. I know they have a stir fry station which I'm excited about. Also, the gelatto looks awesome! So, if you have stayed at the AoA and ate at the food court, please let us know what you ate and what you thought. Also, if you are going soon, please come back here to update everyone with your input.

Thanks!

I'm looking forward to it too! :thumbsup2 They also have tandoori which is one of my favorites. The food court is one of the reason we chose AoA for our first night's stay.

Very nice and very well staffed. When we stayed there in the middle of July, we were on the dining plan and the food and desserts were AWESOME! Lots of great selections and made to order food.

We visited the AoA food court in June and loved it. I had the Caprese Sandwich with the homemade potato chips and it was delicious. My husband, who is on a low carb diet, did the make your own salad and said that it was really good. It was nice eating on real plates and using real silverware too.

Just got back Friday from a stay in the Nemo section. Best part of the food court to me, was the make your own pasta bowls. You could even get it in kid portions (although it wasn't listed) for only $5.95. Best bargain there!

The food is very good - even the spinach side (hubby and I don't eat spinach but this side was very good). And the smoothie/gelato station was great. Another plus - meals are served on real dishes and silverware - not paper and plastic - which I think helps things taste a little better (I know that it is in my mind - but presentation does help).

We ate at Landscape of Flavors in July too. It was awesome! It was never crowded when we went. CMs are very friendly and accomodating. They're not speedy quick, but I'm not sure if that's because they're still working the system out or if it's because they make everything fresh. Probably a little of both.

DD14 has a peanut and tree nut allergy and we were so surprised to find that there is very little there she *can't* eat! Even some of the breads, rolls, etc. that she normally can't eat she could.

The atmosphere is great and the food very good. The gelato is delicious as well as the housemade chips and seasoned fries they serve as sides.

There wasn't anything we had that we didn't like! The smoothies are awesome, we had a veggie burger, meatball sandwich, turkey sandwich, kids' mac and cheese and sides, spinach/paneer side, cheesey pesto bread, pastries, and a few more things. It was all great!

Two things that were a drawback but not so much so that it wouldn't make us still love this foodcourt:
1. Everyone seems to really like the real plates/silverware, etc. Some of the baskets they serve the food in are adorable. I think it's a really nice touch, but the trays really do get heavy when you put multiple meals on them. I can see this being a little harder for families balancing food, little kids, etc.
I have arthritis in my wrists, so it did get somewhat heavy for me. I'm sure you could ask for your food in to-go products which are nice take out boxes, not styrofoam, etc.

2. They have some great kids' choices, but missing some other kid friendly items like chicken nuggets, strips, etc. Just as many will come from Pop over to AoA to eat, if we go back for an extended stay at AoA we will probably go over to Pop for some of my kids' standby favorites. Lol. :goodvibes

I'm staying at AoA in September and can't wait to try the tandoori and breakfast items this time!

Hope everyone who has an upcoming trip has a GREAT time! You will love AoA whether you are staying or visiting!!:cool1:

If anyone that has eaten there was on the dining plan, I'm wondering if the special drinks like the smoothies or special coffees are included as a drink on the CS credit?
Thanks!

I would love to hear more about the make your own pasta bowls. What kind of pasta, sauce and if there is any meat that can be added? Is the kids portion large or really small? Myself and DD love Alfredo, so we will probably share :)

Thanks.

They vary from day to day; if it is the same as POR, two pastas, two sauces and some kind of meat. The portions are just perfect for both.

You just check-in each day to see what they have.

When we were there last week, they had 3 types of pasta, sauces, and meats each day. The didn't change during our trip. The pastas were linguini pasta, bow tie pasta, and some sort of cork screw pasta. The sauces were marinara, pesto, and alfredo. There were all kinds of toppings. I won't remember them all, but I do remember peas, mushrooms, onions, garlic, broccoli, bacon, and parmesean cheese. The meats that could be added were meatballs, chicken, or shrimp. HTH!

We were there opening week and ate at the food court. We only did breakfast, but found it to be as good as the other resorts. However the lunch menu was a bit "different" with not-so-friendly kids choices, at least not for our DD7 and DS1.

Thanks for all of the info. I must have been really hungry earlier, re reading my post. It was right before lunch. I have never been to the one at POR, this sounds really good. We are leaving 5 weeks from tomorrow

Great info! Making me hungry. I'm looking forward to eating at the AoA food court almost as much as I am for some of our TS ADRs!

:thumbsup2 I have to say, on our recent trip, we enjoyed Landscape of Flavors more than some of our TS meals! :)

I am staying at Pop in 12 days and can't wait to go over and check it out. :)

Please write an update when you get back...I'm going in late November and plan on doing the same thing (staying at POP so that I can check out AoA's food court...and the resort of course!)...let us know what you liked and suggest...
