Well I've got 2 boys & a girl will the boys feel like the mansion section is for a girl?
Stayed at Alligator Bayou first of like seven trips to POR -- never again. Magnolio Bend rooms are elegant, the buildings are beautiful, and the atmosphere low-key. And seemed a lot quicker to Ole Man Island/Bar area/Lobby. AB was frenetic, cheesy decor, lots of huge families and a long walk. All depends on who is going, and what you are looking for. For DH and I (no children) Magnolia Bend felt like an upgrade to another resort.

I've stayed in Alligator Bayou, ... and my experience was the absolute opposite. We found AB tranquil, lush and super relaxing. Our building was right in the middle of AB so not close and not too far. We were in a building near a quiet pool. The paths to the main building were winding and surrounded by luxurious landscape and LOTS of cute wildlife; bunnies, ducks, birds (non agrgessive) lizards etc. We loved it.
Unless your yongest is under 3. Then you can sleep all 5 in the mansions also. It's not until they turn 3 that you have to have a 5 person room.

I can't compare to the Mansions though since we've never stayed in them. They sure are pretty though!
Aww feel better
