Trip #8; But Was It Great? A WDW MAYcation with a side of LegoLand & Celebration, FL!

YUM.

It looked wonderful. Bread basket too.:rotfl:

Sorry you didn't like the sauce on it. Sometimes just plain is so much better! Maybe a little butter, and that's it. :thumbsup2

It was so nice that you got to spend some time together but I HATE when I go to a restaurant and they herd you in so close to people at the next table that you can hear their conversation. It's called personal space and I want a lot of it. If I can hear someone else talking and can hear what their converstion is about-- you're too close for me.
That made your meal not so nice I'm sure, as well as the high pressure dessert salesman. Good grief.:sad2: Your cute little Anniversary chocolates were nice though!

Thanks for the review-- at some point I will probably try it. Without the sauce!!:upsidedow

Sorry you did not enjoy your anniversary dinner more. We have never eaten at Yachtsmen Steakhouse. Most is the Signature places do not appeal to DH does not like gravy, sauce or anything drizzled over his food and does not care for his food to be touching. I am just the opposite:rotfl2:

At least the bread was good! :rotfl:

Yeah, it would have just been so much better without all that 'junk' on it. Too much for me. :confused3

And too close for comfort with that other table being so close!:faint: I felt like that guy was on our date. :scared1:

Oh well, it was a decent experience and I'm glad we went.

Forgot to say--- love that dress!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks!!:goodvibes

He wouldn't have liked this then!! Lots of stuff on the food. :upsidedow It was a really nice place though and the service was great.

I hate how sometimes you know you'll like something then they throw some god awful sauce on it and ruins it. It happens a lot to me at signature rest. in WDW. They have this dish that looks awesome and that I'd like but I can't order b/c they put some stuff on it that I don't like. I know I can ask for it w/out but I don't want to be a bother.
We ate at the Yachtsman for our anniversary vacation. I can't even tell you what I had, I don't remember- but it was good.

I'm still here Shelly! I wouldn't abandon you, I promise! :flower3:

I'm sorry your room wasn't cleaned again and that SAB was such a pain. I really dislike both dirty rooms and busy places so just don't think BC would be my thing. What a bummer!

You looked super cute on date night. Your food does look really good! :thumbsup2

I'm with you - I like a good steak without it being smother in something. It masks the true taste of the steak.

I think they think it makes it sound 'fancier' if they throw a bunch of stuff on it!! :confused3:rotfl:

I know you wouldn't abandon me Kelli!!

Yes, this was the day we were FED UP with the BC.

Thank you. The Yachtsman is a nice place. :)

Your trip is coming up so soon! :cool1: Are you all ready??

Exactly! ::yes::

It looks like you guys had a pretty good time at Yachtsman! I'm with you though- I don't like my steak smothered in anything!

We ate at Yachtsman last Saturday night. We absolutely loved it! I got the filet, and it was delicious. We also had great service. I think Yachtsman was DH's favorite meal of the trip!

Thanks a lot, Shelly. I've got this vision of the giant slab of beef hanging from the ceiling that I can't get out of my head.  :rotfl2: I think a simple line on the menu "All steaks are cut to order" would have sufficed, and they could have skipped the cow carcasses. I'm not much of a meat eater, and when I do eat steak, I try not to think too far back in the whole process of how it got on my plate.

Sorry your meal wasn't as good as you had hoped. I would have liked my steak without all the sauce poured on it, too. The waiters should ask if you might prefer the sauce on the side or in a little side cup. I'm sure you're not the first or the last to wish your steak was sauce-free!

At least you and your DH had a little just-us time (well, just-us plus Mr. Convention Guy ;)) A nice early anniversary date! The boys probably felt all grown up being parent-less for a little while, too! One of the bright sides of your kids getting older!

Looking forward to your Epcot evening!

I really want steak right now!!

It must have been nice to have a little adult time even though the food could have been better.

I probably should have gotten the filet, I'm sure it was much better! Maybe another time...

How is your DD doing?

That's exactly what it was - a giant slab of beef hanging from the ceiling!! Right there on the left as you enter the restaurant! :scared1:

:rotfl:

Yeah, the steak wasn't the greatest tasting steak I ever had. But it was nice to have a little quiet time. Even if Mr Convention Guy was sort of crashing our date!

Oh yes, the boys loved their parent free time!! And we were only a 5 minute walk away if they needed us! They are already planning on some 'kid time' in December with Jodi's kids, without any pesky parents!:rotfl:

I could go for a steak tonight for dinner!! I think maybe I will get one, without any sauce! :rotfl:

I think the question is, are we ready for them to have kid time without us?? ;)

I thought you should know that ever since I read this TR day yesterday I have been craving steak badly and the only one I want is Ruth's Chris Bone In Filet. I'm just not willing to go pay $200 for a meal there, so here I sit miserable.

It's all your fault. :snooty:

I just hope the GF SL lounge stocks up on snacks that day. I have a feeling that's where they will end up!! :lmao:

:rotfl:

Well lucky for me I have never been to Ruth's Chris!! So I am thinking of settling for Red Lobster or Max & Erma's.....

Girl once you have that Bone In Filet from Ruth's.... it's all over. I think I could eat it every day. :sad2:

Huuum--- haven't ever had the steak at RL or M&E so IDK which to tell you to go to.
Okay wait. RL has cheddar biscuits. Yep--that gets my vote!! ::yes::

I'm gonna have to settle for PF Chang's. :rotfl2: Not sure how that happened when I was all ready for my steak.:confused3

Yeah-- I'm afraid the SL lounge will never be the same. I can't wait to tell the kids we're staying there. And then tell them that you'll be there the next day. They still think you are staying at the Poly the whole time. ;)

It's gonna be fun to hear those squeals of delight!

I live in the UK now and we do not have these restaurants here!! How mean of you to remind me that RL has those cheddar biscuits lol

I have never eaten at that steakhouse-the Ruth's place-and heard it's the BOMB!! People talk about it like it's the Holy Grail for steaks,..I have never heard one bad thing about it! We have a PF Changs in the Woodlands and over in Houston...but not where we are...so that's an hour and a half drive or more for that too!! But, I have eaten PFs and it's preeeettty daaaaaang good!!!:thumbsup2

DD and her BF went to Ruth's Chris Thursday night for his birthday. She was telling me what they had to eat, and it was killing me! She doesn't eat steak, so she had lobster, and they shared spinach Madeline and some potato side.

I always get the petite filet at Ruth's Chris. I sound like I eat there often. We used to go every year when DH's office had their Christmas dinner. Anything you want, apps, dinner, dessert, on the company. Yep, that's one of the casualties of the economy. So we've only been once or twice on our own dime. What is a bone in filet? Sounds contradictory! You like it better than the filet?

So now between DD and you and Shelly, I'm really wishing I had something good to eat over here!

I've never eaten at Red Lobster before. We just got one here last year - there had been one a long time ago, but it had closed. But I've never heard of Max & Erma's. Is that a steak place, too? I'll have to Google and see if they are in Louisiana.
