People always look at me like I'm crazy when I say I don't know about the city or I try to explain that each area is so incredibly different that it's almost like going into different states!

I think it's also funny that when you say you're from NY everyone thinks of Manhattan! I grew up on LI so I am as much a tourist in the city as the guy who just flew in from Kansas! I just sound a lot more like the locals!

DH and I grew up on Staten Island. We probably sound like you. Are you starting to blend your NY accent with a southern drawl, yet?

We actually spend a considerable amount of time in the city, and we often wish we lived there. We will be living there vicariously through Belle, as she will be living in what we consider the VERY BEST of all NYC neighborhoods, right between the East and West Village. You're right about the difference between the city and the areas around it! So night and day!

Patchogue is about 40 min or so east of where I was. I lived in Amityville (yes, like the Horror - I actually lived 13 houses away until I was 11).

I love GA. I've always been a little bit southern I used to spend my summers in WV with my cousins so it all sunk in! If I could change one thing about GA it would be the severe weather. Didn't know they had tornadoes here until we moved!
