Spreading the DIS love

I was over at the local hockey arena (the team shop was having a Christmas in July sale) and I had bought some things on the sale and pulled out my Disney Visa out to pay for my things. The lady at the register said how she loved my design (the castle in the clouds) and how she has Tink on her card. I said that I was using it to get enough on my rewards to help pay for my trip in Dec. She said that she was going in December also...So we got talking about going to WDW in Dec and things were were going to do.

I then told her about the DIS and how I had been to WDW plenty of times before visiting here, and I learned so much more because of this website!! I hope she visits the site. I know I will be seeing her at the store some more because she has been there for a couple of years.

If you haven't already, come and join the Dec 2012 Roll Call Thread... and invite the arena clerk too!! Lots of planning tips and tricks being shared here. :woohoo:

LOL...

What's even funnier is giving the DIS sales pitch to the nurses working in the hospital when they come to visit your room and see several of the obvious Disney related items in the room and mention their planned trips in the coming year.

That happened on more than one occasion on recent multiday stay. (which made the sleeping in those awkward sleep-chairs a bit more bearable since I got to talk Disney with the nurses.)

My DBFF and I haven't settled on a date yet on when we are going...We have to wait for the AHL hockey schedule to come out (not patiently waiting  ) and then we can finalize everything. It is most likely looking like the timeframe of Dec. 6-11.

I'm a nurse & my lanyard that holds my work ID photo name badge and big blue "RN" sign is my gold DCL Castaway Club lanyard with a pin of nurse Minnie Mouse on it. You wouldn't believe the number of conversations that strikes up ;)

Another favorite is being that I live/work in Tampa, we get a lot of Cast Members as patients or family members, so I get to talk about a lot & learn about a lot too (especially when they are "higher up" execs....).

And then there are all of the residents MDs that are new to the area that gravitate towards me for all of their WDW travel advice.....

GOOD STUFF!!!

I'm thinking it's pretty common for the DIS, but I've found that most of the people at work who know of my Disney...addiction.... have turned to me for all sorts of advice and information on Disney and Universal for their trips down to Orlando. I even had my boss have his counterpart at the Division level contact me with questions on their trip this summer. (even got a text from the Division Director while in florida asking the ever popular "Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach" question. lol)
