Thankgiving at Bonnet Creek questions

We have a resevation for WBC for the week of thanksgiving. We are in a 3 bedroom deluxe (we would have preferred presidential but looks like we are lucky to have gotten this). We have a vehicle. I would love some information about this time of year. We will be checking in Friday Nov16

1. How busy is it really? Are the pools packed?
2. Are there still kid activities that week?
3. Will the buses be packed-although we have a car we prefer to shuttle.
4. We would like to have a thanksgiving meal in our unit but don't want to make it, don't mind heating it etc...any suggestions.

1) the MK was definitely the busiest

2) would definitely think so - lots of kids

3) did not use their shuttle - they have a schedule so understand that it is not WDW transportation - think you would be better off using your car - but your decision

4) go to Publix - there are a couple close to you - one is on International drive south - the other is on vineland ave

you early -= very popular

Did the Pubix turkey dinner once - never again.

It wasn't bad, but with all the reheating we could have just popped a bird in the over early in the day and had a juicier one.

The dressing tasted like stove top so could have just made that.

There are lots of good already prepared mashed potato options.

Seemed like about 90% of the work and twice the cost to me. In the future, if I'm not cooking, I'll just go to a restaurant.

We did publix too last year. It was just ok. I think Sonny's BBQ also has meals you can order. Next time I'll try that.

There is a Honey Baked Ham store in Orlando - they sell turkeys w/ all the sides and they are YUMMY! We've used them for holidays on the go before & been pleased - it will be a lot more expensive than Publix, but well worth it IMO.

Thanks for the info. We have used the shuttle before, I was just wondering how full BC really was thanksgiving week. Thanks for the food info, my mom decided she did not want to spend time cleaning up sub standard food so we made an ADR.

How close is it to WBC...or possibly the Orlando airport? Sometimes, we like to pick up a Honey Baked Ham for special occasions, and a once-in-a-lifetime vacation is a special occasion. More expensive than your normal eat-in meals, but still a lot cheaper than an ADR. And you can use the bone for a simple bean soup the last day. BTW, we are driving down; however we'll probably have to pick someone up at the airport the first day.
