Misc Windsor Hills Questions

We'll be staying in a townhome for 8 nights in September. DH, me, and DD (8 months). I had a few questions:

1. I read that there was a pool bar. Is it open and would it be open in September? Not that we drink much with baby with us, but it might be a nice option to have a frou-frou drink at some point

2. In one obscure post I read something about how hard it is to dodge into traffic related to staying at WH. Is there a stoplight from WH onto Old Lake Wilson? Anyone know what the poster might have been referring to?

3. We're in an end unit townhome. Didn't realize until after I booked it. The end backs up to the overflow parking for the townhomes. Have we lost all sense of privacy in the pool area by booking this?

Any other thoughts or tips greatly appreciated. First time staying off-site, but very excited about it.

Hi there, I can't answer your first question, but I will answer your others. We went in May and had no problem making the left turn out of the WH gates onto Old Lake Wilson. Sometimes we had to wait for traffic to pass, but it really was no big deal in my opinion (and they were doing construction on that road and it still wasn't a big deal).

Your end unit being right at the overflow parking isn't ideal, but I don't think it will be too big of a deal. When we were there in May, I never saw more than one or two cars in the overflow parking areas that we passed by. I'd imagine that September is probably similar since neither are peak times and the resort probably isn't at capacity.

We really liked staying at WH townhomes. This past May was our first time and it was so nice having our kids (ages 5 & 2) in their own room, my mom in her own room and all having our own bathrooms etc. I will definitely be staying there again, especially for the price. We didn't stay late most nights at the parks and it was great to put our kids to bed early and then go swim in the little pool right outside our door. We also went to the resort pool a couple times and thought it was very nice, especially for the little ones since it is a gradual entry pool.

Thanks! I did find where they don't have a pool bar after all (due to some regulatory requirements) and just have a snack bar that serves wine/beer in their sundry shop. (In case anyone else was wondering).

Windsor Hills has a website, www.windsorhillsmaster.com that has loads of information about the resort, hours the snack bar/store is open, etc. Although there is not an official pool bar, there is a seating area just outside of the pool where you can enjoy your favorite beverage or quick meal or I believe they will bring your meal out to you once you order inside the store. It has tables and a television, nice area. Many go there to have a glass of wine or beer.

You should have no problem exiting Windsor Hills. There has been some work on the road, making it into 4 lanes, and it will be done in August so traffic patterns should improve. You will love the townhome and it will be really nice having the end unit, as the pool area seems a little larger plus more privacy (no one on other side of you). September is a lower period, so you should have plenty of privacy. Have a wonderful time!

What a great video. We are staying in a villa at WH for the first time in December. Can't wait.
