I have a question do you have to pay with a cc when you make the reservation? Also what are the different times for ??

Yes..for the 3 of us (2 adult 1-6 year old) it was $65.

And Im happy cause I went and tried to book for 50 and it was still open so Im guessing I got front seating

For the person going the 5th...what a bummer already booked up totally and it just opened last night. Glad you were able to get in there

Yes, you must pay upfront. It is refundable for 48-72 hours prior to the party if you cancel.

The times aren't really for anything. Everyone is allowed to be seated once they open seating. My theory (a popular one) is it is to try and spread out the seating as a host/hostess will show you to your assigned table. The other popular theory is the early you book, regardless of time, is that you get a better table (closer to the front).

Just got mine booked for 9/26 for 8....they still say there are at least 40 seats sooooo hoping for front row seating!

I tried again and put in 3 people instead of 2 and it came up with availability! I guess only tables for 2 are booked.

I remember last year people had issues booking for 2 people.

Instead they booked for 2 adults and the '3rd person' went as a guest between the ages of 0-2 which of course is free.

I've never had a problem booking for two people, but it is heard of.

To the PPs that were asking about the fireworks getting canceled...

We were at the DP on Sunday, June 24, when Tropical Storm Debby was moving through. We asked about cancellations after we sat down and the CM told us that they had canceled the MSEP for that night and Tinkerbell probably wouldn't fly, but that they hadn't cancelled the fireworks in 50 years. Seemed a little strange to me if that's really the case, but sure enough, we sat there and watched Wishes through the storm (and stayed substantially drier than those who weren't at the party )

We asked about cancellations after we sat down and the CM told us that they had canceled the MSEP for that night and Tinkerbell probably wouldn't fly, but that they hadn't cancelled the fireworks in 50 years. Seemed a little strange to me if that's really the case, but sure enough, we sat there and watched Wishes through the storm (and stayed substantially drier than those who weren't at the party )

The reasoning being, most people only do Disney World once or twice in their lives--or so said the guest services manager (not the reservationist, who couldn't give the cancel/still on info).

My thoughts were I didn't want to be getting sopping wet on a cruise, freezing my tush off and not get a refund if we didn't show. Luckily, the rain stopped minutes before check-in and didn't start again until we disembarked (almost on cue).

We actually did the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage. A LOT cheaper than renting a boat. I can't remember exactly what we paid (Payment due at booking), but the Disney site says $53.99 per adult and $30.99 per child. That sounds about right.

I had to book it through 407-WDW-PLAY number.

It was cute. It had a few character meet-n-greets (Smee & Captain Hook prior and Peter Pan after), lots of "snacks" before leaving and an interesting show during the cruise. I preferred the dessert party, but I think it was an OK experience. The snacks were more limited, but did include full size ice cream novelty bars like you find at the vendors, lots of chocolate (never a bad thing--lol) and was unlimited also.

Thank you so much for this suggestion. Unfortunately this is what I had to do for 9/16. I put in every combination of number and availability came up except for a party of 2. It wasn't my first choice to do but it had to be done. I guess lots of parties of 2 that night. We're normally a party of 3 but leaving the kid at home this time so DH and I can celebrate our 20 year Disneyversary (we've been going together to Disney for 20 years even though we've only been married 17 years!).

Booked!!! Party of 5, Sept 29th, 8:00. Still shows availability for at least 42 guests...so hopefully that means a front row seat for us!!

Ahhh of course I didn't look at this thread for a few days!!

But thankfully I got a reservation for two on September 16th. It seems like a lot of other people did too so I hope our table isn't too far back!

I booked a party of 3 this morning for the 16th I just went online and there was room for 36 guests yet so shouldn't be too bad...

Tink did not fly the night of our first dessert party, in 2009. It was drizzling slightly. Ever since then, I do not take Tink flying for granted. However, I have never been there when fireworks were cancelled. I do see where high winds might cause cancellation.

I have heard that once the fireworks are loaded/whatever you call it, they have to be shot, they can't be "unloaded". So they will shoot them off whenever they can, as long as it's safe. I have also heard that if they do need to cancel the fireworks, you still pay for the dessert party, because technically you are paying for the desserts, not the show.
