March 20, 2012: Purchases

Disney Showcase is a little store on Main Street… or a big store on Main Street. It’s all connected, so it’s hard to tell.

At 12:10, I bought some Caramel Corn, (I love Donald Duck’s caramel corn.) a blue Mickey Mouse silicone (I think!) muffin pan and a pair of Disneyland yoga pants. I didn’t exchange the ones I’d bought the other night, I just bought a pair in a different size and kept both pairs! I was happy with this set of purchases.

Outlet:

At the outlet, I found some things… but the receipt doesn’t tell me what they are! I know we bought some Disney Christmas mugs from 2009. I bought a Disneyland sweater. That’s about all I can remember, but there were 5 items on my receipt. I think that counts for 3 of the items, if not only 2. Ooops… Blanche? Do you remember?

March 21, 2012, Part 1: Getting to the parks again

Oh! I forgot to mention that we watched the fireworks from our balcony the night before. I have a little video I took of it, and you can hear the music and the sound of the fireworks, but you can mostly hear us talking about how exciting it is to watch the fireworks from our room can you believe it? We squealed and squeaked and giggled and laughed and I think Blanche ate a beignet!

What do you think was the first thing I did? Yep, I checked to make sure our view was still there!

And it was, obviously. But I still wanted to check every day and appreciate the view for a minute before heading out of the park.

This was another day when I was itching to go, but look what Blanche had to do. This was a very regular occurrence, so we decided to document it!

I took the stairs down this time, and I took a picture at the top of the stairs by our room before heading down. Have I mentioned that I loved the location and the view from the hotel? It was amazing!

This time we walked up to the light and walked on the other side of the street. It was nice for an early morning stroll. For those that are curious, there are 12 minutes between the time I took the Hojo picture and the park direction sign. Another 7 or so minutes and we were inside the park. We were not walking quickly, so it is a short walk.

When my husband and I were there for our 20th anniversary Roz was so funny. She told me that she thought he looked shifty and that she didn't trust him. Then she told him that he better be careful because she had her eye on him. It was so fun!! I love that ride!! I think that Roz is a big part of that. She has engaged our daughters on other trips. What cracks me up is that it is personalized too, like mentioning your glasses.

I love your view from your room.

I think you're right, Roz makes the ride that much more fun! Even though it would be great without that added bonus, she just adds to the experience. I love that she said that about your husband! Too funny.

I did think the queue area was weird, but I loved the ride.

Blanche was talking at the beginning to the ride. Something to the effect of eugh.(aaah screams too Im sure) Why do I do this to myself. So loud that the boy in front of us turned around and laughed at her. For some reason I was really worried that my glasses would fall off (because they advised you to take them off), but I rarely take them off, because I like to see. Although there is not much to see on this one!

I thought you would enjoy seeing us on Space, since its the only ride and photopass picture I bought.

Blanche said shed sit and rest while I went through Tarzans Treehouse. I told her that I would take tons of pictures for her since she didnt think the stairs would like her. Well, I took almost 100 pictures from the time I left her to the time I got back to find her again! LOL Oh well Im not sure how many from the tree house will end up on here, I might have to cull them some more as I have 55 in my file I guess I will have to go through them some. It might be 3 posts of just the tree house! Hahaha. Sorry about that, but its something that is not at WDW, Id never seen it and Blanch couldnt do it!

I love the pictures of Tarzan's Treehouse. I have never been up there. The last time I climbed the tree it was Swiss Family Treehouse. I loved that, probably because I love the movie.

You should do a trek up there. I loved the old TV show about the Swiss Family Robinsons, but the movie (that the TV show was inspired by) wasn't quite the same. I love the Swiss Family Treehouse and I have to walk that at least once a trip too. I liked the Tarzan treehouse too, it's fun, but I adore the Tarzan movie too. :thumbsup2

It's fun for some different views too.

March 21, Part 8: Pirates again and important news!

Well, you will soon notice that Im going to put up many posts soon to finish the trip report within less than a week. There is a big important reason for that. Yes, Im off, (from school at least, although its still really busy) but thats not the main reason. Look at my ticker! I am leaving for Florida on the 18th! JULY 18th! Blanche and I were joking that it hadnt been warm enough in California so we needed to go somewhere warm this summer. Well, I checked flights a few weeks ago (about a month ago I guess) and found great prices out of our home airport, Charlottetown. Seriously great, as in Ive never seen them this low when I can travel great! Under $500 from Charlottetown! Its never direct, so thats nothing new, but these were incredible prices. Maybe we could have gotten better deals on the hotel rooms later in August, but thats okay, this is when Blanche can travel.

Were booked at Port Orleans Riverside, in a water view (not river view) room. We bought the QSDP because we like the convenience of it. Ill keep the receipts and calculate to see if the convenience is worth the price though, but were not going to stress and order the most expensive item on the menu all the time kind of thing.

I didnt tell you before, because, well, I had some REALLY crazy good Catholic guilt. We booked the trip during and were going to be away during an extremely important day. My sister (and Blanches sister in law), the other Golden Girl, who weve called Rose (but her name is really Julie Affleck) in the TRs of the past, is an author. Yep, shes published a few books and shes having her very first book signing. And were not going to be there! Its not good. Ive felt guilty ever since I realized it. Then of course, as a sister, she tried really hard to make me feel guiltier, which helps me feel less guilty, but only a little bit!

Here is a picture of the three of us we have tons of fun together. If you havent read the trip report from 2010, you will laugh Im sure.

Because of the rush to finish this trip report, I will try harder to keep better notes in Florida so that I can write a better trip report for that one!

The chili was okay. We dont think it was meat chili. The bread bowl was okay I liked it more than the chili though. The food was hot and warmed us up. We didnt stay for Billy Hill, although I wish we did! We saw a cute, funny little show though, that totally kept us entertained.

Blanche gets off the ride and says something to the effect of her legs not working. The lady walking ahead of us turns around and says I know! Mine too! We sat down and once I got her to tell me that it was because of the ride, not because she was in pain, I snapped some pictures because it was then hilarious! We wandered some shops, I believe we made some purchases, and I bought some popcorn in an R2D2 bucket, We then bought some ice cream and went back to our hotel room for a short break.

I love Disney stores the theming, the decorations, everything I want to buy, things I would like to buy but arent for sale even! I dont think Id buy the buffalo, but hes still an amazing piece of carving.

March 21, 2012, Part 12: Tower of Terror!

We went straight for Tower of Terror where we got fastpasses and then rode it right away too as the wait wasn’t long. The wait for the fast passes wasn’t long either, we got them at about 3 and we could return at 3:35.

99% of my ride photos are the same, I’m usually just grinning from ear to ear. I was here too. (I’m in the yellow), but look at Blanche beside me! I love it! It’s so funny!

Blanche didn’t want to ride right away again, so we walked around a little bit, and then we went back and I rode TOT with the fastpass. I don’t think Blanche went on it again. We got fastpasses for California Screamin’ for a little while later
