Just catching up!

1st, I completely agree with you about the Bill Levkoff swatches not being the same in the full dress. I was in LOVE with regency, a Bill Levkoff shade, and not a single store had a dress in that color to see, but I figured how different could it be.. Lets just say, on a whim I went into the Bridal Salon we're ordering from and they just got in a Bill Levkoff in Regency.. it was AWFUL! Did not match what I was envisioning at all! Luckily, I was able to switch colors since the order wasn't placed yet!

2nd, I wouldnt give the bridesmaid so much say. I took my biggest bridesmaid (and best friend) to look at dresses. Her chest is huge so I figured as long as she was comfortable, the rest of my girls who are smaller would be fine to. We picked out a few styles that we liked. The next weekend all my girls came out, tried on the dresses we had selected and they voted on a favorite. I wouldnt give them all the power. You pick what you like that comes in the colors you like and have them select from 3 or 4 styles. It will save you lots of headaches! Plus, its your wedding after all! When they get married, they can put their girls in whatever they like!

That's EXACTLY what my plan is now! I'm just going to go shopping with my sister (my MOH).. or by myself if she can't come.. I'm going to pick out the styles I like.. and THEN try to get all my girls together for an outing. I just can't wait till its OVER! LOL.. I feel like getting the dresses (and colors) nailed down are holding me back from doing/buying other things!

Thanks to the recommendations from some girls on here and on the DisBrides Facebook page, I made an appointment to go to J Crew to look for dresses. I'm going with my MOH this Friday... here's some of the styles/colors that I'm going for:

Great that the BM you didn't really want but chose of obligation dropped out.
Now on to the dresses, I like the colours. My fave is the 2nd darker one and for the lighter ones I like the 3rd.

So... We decided on the bridesmaids dresses!!!

They are J. Crew, and they are in the color shown (Matisse Blue). I'm VERY excited and relieved that they are chosen!

In other news.. I've been very busy working on the STD's, Newsletters, & Pre-RSVP's. DF threw them in the mail last night!

From creating them on the computer to sealing each envelope the process took a longgg time! But they came out great so it was worth it.... now if everyone would just take the 10 min to read over everything!

Other DIY things that I started are the custom name hangers. I plan to make one for all the bridesmaids, 1 for myself, and 1 for the flower girl... and probably for my mom and Paul's mom. After several attempts and having to exchange some supplies I finally did a successful name! Here's Christine, one of the bridesmaids:

They are NOT easy.. I'll tell you that!

Other things.... I'm in the process of booking Beaute Speciale and also Disney photography for the wedding and a Magic Kingdom shoot. Also, I am in the beginning stages of searching for an officiant. I want the ceremony to be non-religious because we will be having a Catholic ceremony back home after the Disney wedding.. So I was trying to find something unique and romantic to do during the Disney ceremony and I came across a "knot ceremony" online and I kinda love it... hmmm.. Still thinking.

Just joining in! I love the colour of your BM dresses! Gorgeous! Your newsletters are amazing, they look so professional and fun. Your Up! perfect. And even though this is from way back in your PJ, I felt exactly the same about picking my wedding dress. It was a fairly unemotional decision and when I got home later that night I couldn't sleep for wondering if I'd made a terrible mistake. By the next morning it had pretty much passed, but it's true nobody really brings up that part of the experience.

Seriously... LOVE J. Crew! And the girls will DEFINITELY be able to wear the dresses again! Thanks about the paper stuff... It seems like at least SOME of the people are reading them, I've been getting texts from random people since they went out! I've been hearing great things about Beaute Speciale... It's good to feel comforted that spending the money on them would be worth it!

Our colors are green and blue so it was kinda meant to be when we saw the decor at LSS!

Your STDs are so great! I love that they are personalized and have pictures of the two of you. I had mentioned engagement pictures to DF and he looked at me like I had 12 heads.

I can't believe you're making your own hangers!! That's so awesome! I'm lazy and I found one on Etsy that I like. How did you bend the wire like that? I'm pretty creative but I think that exceeds my talents.

Paul was into the pictures too.. he's as much of a Disney parks fanatic as me, so having them in Disneyland was just about the coolest thing ever for both of us!

The hangers weren't TOO difficult, once I got the hang of it (and had the right supplies). They don't look "professional" quality... but they are definitely good enough! I found a DIY online and just used that as a guide to making them.

Over the past couple months I've been buying gifts here and there.. here's what I've got so far:

For the welcome bags: We ordered these Mickey reusable bags from disneystore.com when they were on sale for $1.99 each. They don't match our colors, but they have Mickey on them and hearts and the word love.. so it fits.

For the flower girl & pillow boy: I ordered these Disney activity and story books... they were a groupon deal for $25 each.

Also for the flower girl: How could you NOT get the "Once Upon a Wedding" Cinderella doll?! (it was on sale for either $15 or $20 on disneystore.com when I ordered it):

And my most recent acquisition, I ordered these bags earlier this morning from disneystore.com. I've been eyeing them up for months now.. they go with our color scheme (and match LSS perfectly!). They were on sale for $18 from $30. I ordered one for each of my bridesmaids and one for myself. I'm going to have their names embroidered on each one, and I'll use it as a "gift bag" to hold all the gifts when I give it to them. They could use it throughout the trip and on the plane to Florida!

..That's all so far... I'll add more as I go.

Some of the other things that I/we want to get are:

-Designer Sunglasses as the groomsmen gifts
-Mickey head cuff links for the groomsmen
-All the jewelry for the bridesmaids and flowergirl
-Something for our mother's (maybe a tote bag?)
..that's all I can think of for now.
