cabanna location at discovery cove

For anyone who has rented a cabana, do you have a location preference of near the grand reef or dolphins. If you do have a preference, why? I am thinking that the dolphin location would be best because it is near the restaurant. Any info would be greatly appreciated,

We just returned from visiting Discovery Cove a few weeks ago. Our cabana was the first one off the Starfish dolphin pool. I don't see how it could have been better. We could watch the dolphin swim classes while relaxing in the cabana. I didn't see where any other cabanas were located but ours was perfect. I have started a TR (link below) and will soon post the DC pics if you want to see our view. DC was absolutely fantastic and definately the highlight of our trip. Hope you have as much fun as we did.

Thanks Bill. Have reserved a cabana but did not tell the family. I am really concerned that it is going to be a long day and no shade. Were there many lounge chairs with shade? The people at DC say no, that it is set up like a beach. Did you feel it was worth the $$$$$$$$$? Also, how attentive was your assistant? Can they bring lunch to the cabana?

The only place where there is shade to sit down is around the restaurant. All the lounge chairs we saw were on the beach and in full sun. IMO, the cabana made the special day even more so. The hostess came by several times during the day to see if we needed anything. She replaced any drinks or snacks we consumed. We know she had been by to check on us when we weren't there because she kept the deck swept and brought us fresh towels without us asking. We did not ask about lunch at the cabana but I doubt they do that since the restaurant is counter service.

The cabanas by the dolphin pool are much more secluded than the ones by the grand reef. They are also slightly larger due to being older.

We have a cabana booked for August - there are 6 of us. I think we would prefer a cabana closer to the grand reef - I am sure that is where we are spending uur time - no dolphin swim - and we love to snorkel. Are there any cabanas where you can watch the snorklers ?? If so, do they have a fan inside - I am anticipating very hot - humid weather - and my mother (77) will be with us. THanks

I love the idea of the cabana but am rethinking my decision. We are going in August and know we will be pretty busy. It will probably rain daily and if there is thunder they will evacuate you out of the cabana. With my luck I will have paid $200 to be evacuated. Does anyone know if they will reimburse you for the cabana if they evacuate?

We were at Discovery Cove on Memorial Day weekend, so it was at full capacity. We booked the premium cabana about 3 months out, and it was located on the Grand Reef. We loved it! We stepped straight out of our cabana to snorkel.

Just booked our cabana for July, a surprise for my family!! It says on our reservation 'first available' so don't know which part of the park we will end up in. Just happy to have secured one!!
Would love to see some more photos of the cabana and your views!
Is there a special check in area for cabana guests?
