I just looked at the week we are planning to be in WDW and MK closes at 7pm every night:confused:How do we schedule the dessert party? Do we have to purchase MVMCP tickets? this is our first time during an "off" season and it's a bit disappointing how early the parks close.

In the off season you can get as much, if not more, done. It is less crowded so less standing in lines. First two weeks in Dec are awesome times to go.

I'm heading to WDW in September and all the days MK closes at 7 it's for the MNSSHP. I'm guessing the December 7 closing of the MK is for hte MVMCP.

It doesn't close every night at 7. I only know this b/c I've been making out our calendar of parks/days/times for our trip in Dec. It closes at 8 and 10 a couple of nights during the week. Monday is EMH, so it closes at 11 for resort guests. Like the others have said, the MVMCP is on the nights when it closes at 7.

There is no week in Dec. that MK closes at 7 every night. Maybe you just scheduled your MK days on days that happen to be party days?

MK never closes at 7:00 PM unless there is a hard ticket event. Those are MVMCP nights.

If I'm not mistaken they don't have Wishes on the night of the MVMCP anyway - so buying a ticket for the event wouldn't help with the Wishes Dessert Party.

We did the dessert party during the Christmas party last year. :) It was around the holiday fireworks show.

They do have Holiday Wishes, but it's irrelevant - you can't get in without a party ticket.

I was a little surprised that the park was closing at 7/8pm our week as well. With th exception of the EMH night. But, we have never done Disney in December and the crowds "should" be lighter than we are used to. So I think we will probably get all the attractions in still.

You can always do a full day at the parks, have dinner then hit whatever park is having EMH that evening. We are doing that a handful of times just because we want to do something after 7pm. :santa:

Adding: we chose to buy MVMCP tickets for one of the nights. I think we will be happy with the decision.

Hours will probably be extended on the non-party nights. I've gone that time of year, MK usually stays open until 11:00 or 12:00 on Saturday nights.

Thank you for your insights. I see we have the options of an evening and morning EMH at MK, so that makes me feel a bit better. We'll have to get used to a slower pace this trip; all others have been in peak seasons either summer or Christmas:goodvibes

I have a question regarding Dec and Magic Kingdom. There isn't a fireworks show at the end of the night for those of us NOT attending MVMCP? I wanted to schedule dinner at OHanna's and try to time it with the fireworks...if it's a party night, what time are the fireworks?

There is no regular Wishes show on party nights. On party nights fireworks have historically been at 9:30.

There is no MVMCP Wednesday, Dec 5 yet they do Wishes at 7 and then the park closes. Anyone know why?
