Beastly Kingdom

My mom and I just discovered the old Disney plans for it. IMHO I believe if DAK had Beastly Kingdom that the desire to go there and stay there would be higher.

I would love to hear what other people think, and how if Beastly Kingdom was real would it help or not help the park?

Where Beastly Kingdom was suppose to be is where Camp Minnie-Mickey is, and where Avatar Land is going to be.

If you want to know more about Beastly Kingdom google 'Beastly Kingdom WDW'. I looked at the Wiki link because it seems to be the most informational.

I loved the idea of Beastly Kingdom and absolutely wish they'd gone through with it. But I don't really believe AK needs much 'help' at this point. I know it's the most popular punching bag here on the DiS, but its attendance is higher than DHS, so maybe the worries can be directed there. If I were going to plead with Disney to "fix" a park, it would be DHS.

I've always hoped they would revisit the idea someday. I used to love those old Ray Harryhausen movies about Greek mythology, with all the gorgeous stop-motion creatures he built. I'd llove to see what a Gorgon, Pegasus, harpy, or Hydra could look like and do if it was designed by WDI. If the Sleeping Beauty Dragon in PAris is any indication, neato!

The main reason I'd like to see AK with more attractions is so they feel they can take Expedition Everest offline when it's time to work on it.

I would much rather have seen a Beastly Kingdom than the now-in-the-planning-phase Avatar. If we had a BK, perhaps an Avatar attraction could have been put inside it. It would have been nice to see an attraction with some of the creatures in the original Fantasia (not the Sorcerer's Apprentice part). Maybe have Pete's Dragon around somewhere ( not as scary as the Sleeping Beauty Dragon :))

I liked Avatar a lot, and I like the ideas I am hearing for this park. It lends itself very well to attractions that will work well (maybe better) at night, which the park most definitely needs.

That said, yeah, I would rather have had the Beastly Kingdom concept.

If you still want to experience part of what the Beastly Kingdom could have been.... go to Universal's Islands of Adventure. The Dueling Dragon's Coaster had a lot of it's design work done for Beastly Kingdom before the BK area was canceled and the Imagineers working on it were let go and Universal hired them.

I wish they would ditch Avatar Land and go with Beastly Kingdom.
