I read that you are given a sample of the sunscreen approved for the safety of the wildlife, but what if you need more? How much is it and where do you get it?

I am very fair skinned, and I burn easily. The sample didn't seem like enough. I tried to buy some at the gift shop, but the ladies working in there said that is was really expensive and I would probably have enough in the sample. They said something about it being really thick and would cover more than it looked like or something. I swear it seemed they didn't want to sell it to me! lol I decided to try it. I thought I had enough (I did reapply), but I was burned in a few spots when I got back to the hotel that night. I definitely plan on buying some next time we go, and reapply a lot! This sunscreen, at least for me, seemed to come off in the water easily. It is also super thick and kinda hard to apply - not like any regular sunscreen I have used. Sorry I don't know the exact amount it was, but I know it was a lot more than normal (it seems like it was around $15).

They have the sunscreen for sale at the big gift shop at the front of the park. It is probably at the other stands, but that is where I went to get it.

We just went on Monday. We used our own and theirs. Their sunscreen is really thick and covers alot of skin with a small amount. But, it really isn't enough if you reapply several times. You only have enough for one reapplication. We saw lots of people using their own spray sunscreens.

Just go back to get another snorkel and they have sunscreen in them!!! That is all we did!

You can request more samples. They are more than happy to give them to you!

Just subscribing as I'm interested in sunscreen and snorkel issues! I've heard the snorkels are brand new and that you can keep them but would love confirmation from someone who has already been there.

We didn't use sunscreen while we were there b/c it was overcast and we already have our base tans (we live in FL). But I did see them giving more samples to other people.

PLEASE do not use your own sunscreen! They give you sunscreen b/c it's the specially formulated type that's ok for the animals.

Yes, you get to keep the snorkel. But no, you give the mask back at the end of the day.

They give you a sample with every snorkel set! Plus they will give you more! We had a party of 6 (3 adults and 3 kids) we reapplied every two hours. I think I used a total of 4 sample packs! They gave us extra when we picked up our snorkel sets because we told them we were concerned due to my mom being allergic to the sun!

You get to keep the snorkel but have to return the mask!

We just went at the beginning of May and had a great time. We asked for extra packets of sunscreen and they gave us more, no problem. You keep the snorkel and return the masks. We used prescription masks that we picked up at the front of the park. We did find that we had to reapply the sunscreen multiple times (we are VERY fair skinned) to keep from burning.

I also noticed many people that just used their own, but they specifically ask you NOT to do that. People don't seem to care about how it might affect the animals and fish. :confused3
