Olympic Eating With Team GB ** COMPLETED - WDW & DCL**

‘Let The Munching Begin’

Magic Cookie Bar

OK so these are ridiculously sweet and probably cause all sorts of problems with your insulin levels but:

1. ‘we are on vacation’ and
2. ‘boy they taste good!’

Next Up Breakfast At ‘Ohana

YES!!!!
Food fest has begun! You are absolutely right ..... there is something absolutely magical in that first bite of Disney food. Maybe it's because they put pixie dust in the seasoning. :rotfl2:

Couldn't agree with you more on the Magic cookie bars. Boy, they are SWEET, but soooooo good! ;)

Can you believe I've never had a magic cookie bar, looks yum - adds to ever growing list for next time.

Wow that cookie bar looks pretty good! I'm going to have to find one of those next time.

The beautiful magic cookie bar photo brings back some wonderful memories of Wilderness Lodge and last summer. :cloud9:

What did you think about the studio at VWL?

‘Let The Munching Begin’

There is just something about your first bite of Disney food isn’t there? :cloud9:
l

I have to agree! And I also think there is something about the first sip of the first cocktail at Disney as well! :hippie:

I can't wait to read more.

long time lurker delurking to say how much I enjoy your reviews..... I vote for the full package please! I'd love to know about DCL as I'd adore to go on one.... one day!

Yay Linda! I love your reviews - definitely signing up for this one. Your cookie bar looks awesome! I need to make a trip to Roaring Fork...:thumbsup2

Saturday May 12th

We were using DCL Transfers to take us to the Port and knowing that they wouldn’t be picking us up until 11:00 am at the earliest and we would probably be awake at the crack of dawn due to jet lag/excitement, I’d made a 7:30 am reservation for Breakfast at ‘Ohana

We loved dinner at ‘Ohana last year and I knew it would be a lovely way to kick off our vacation

After check in, flower garlands and photos were dealt with, we were one of the first families to be seated (following a sweet little welcome song!)

Our table was great with a perfect view of the castle so yep, it was a lovely way to kick off our trip :cloud9:

Firstly we were offered juice and coffee (I really needed some coffee!) and were handed some fruit and pastries

The juice was a mix of passion fruit, orange and guava and even the coffee seemed pretty good to me

The pineapple bread was delicious, it was similar in look and texture to a cinnamon roll and had small pieces of pineapple baked inside it

The fruit was wonderful, very fresh and tasty.

In between Stitch causing his usual chaos and meeting the Big Cheese for the first time this year, we were brought more goodies

‘now I know I am on vacation!’

We’d asked for the meat to be kept separate for DH

Bacon & Sausage

Eggs, Breakfast Potatoes, Biscuits

We both enjoyed the eggs which were light and fluffy and our wonderful server kept popping back with more waffles and coffee

DH enjoyed the sausage and I know it doesn’t have a great reputation but he never has a problem with the Disney bacon

Overall this was a great character breakfast in a wonderful setting :thumbsup2

The food is your usual breakfast fare but that’s not really what you are here for and even with the characters wandering around it was actually a relaxed and peaceful start to the day

We were regularly asked if we would like any more food bringing along but we were more than happy with what we had had so far so instead we settled our bill and headed back to WL

So next, imagine us eating, drinking, and eating and drinking and then eating and drinking some more on the beautiful Disney Fantasy and I’ll fast forward a week to us arriving back on terra firma

Next Up … Back At WDW for less than an hour and I already have a Margarita in my hand!

Oooh, I'm in. Great start - burgers and flatbread - perfect Disney food :lovestruc I love my first look at Disney fries, with the bits of skin on the ends :cool1:

Mmm, they are super sweet but sharing one with a good strong cup of coffee is wonderful :cloud9:

I love Roaring Forks :goodvibes and I seriously need to try a Magic cookie bar!

Roaring Forks is a total gem to us, everything we get there is wonderful :thumbsup2

Can you believe I've never had a magic cookie bar, looks yum - adds to ever growing list for next time.

There is always a list, I took a huge one this year

Wow that cookie bar looks pretty good! I'm going to have to find one of those next time.

If you have a sweet tooth you will love it, I seem to remember reading a review of one at POR as well :goodvibes

The beautiful magic cookie bar photo brings back some wonderful memories of Wilderness Lodge and last summer. :cloud9:

What did you think about the studio at VWL?

Well we love WL, it's 100% our fave resort, we had never stayed in the Villas before and we loved our studio room. It was such a shame to only stay one night but I wouldn't hesitate to book a longer stay there :yay:

Signing on! Please do your cruise reviews as well!!!!:yay:

Great to have you on board :goodvibes

I have to agree! And I also think there is something about the first sip of the first cocktail at Disney as well! :hippie:

I can't wait to read more.

Ahh, the first sip of a cocktail :cloud9:, I think I has been on the ship for all of 5 minutes when that happened

We were in Congress Park for our stay. Right next to their quiet pool. Our pool was much less exciting than the Paddock one is now.

Oh the Congress Park area looked lovely, we used to walk through it on the way to DTD :thumbsup2

A bit late and very happy to see another review!:banana::banana:

I, too, would love a Cruise review! :thumbsup2

Never too late to join in :goodvibes

long time lurker delurking to say how much I enjoy your reviews..... I vote for the full package please! I'd love to know about DCL as I'd adore to go on one.... one day!

Well hello there lurker :goodvibes

What I think I will do is post all the WDW reviews first and then do a cruise section at the end so that people can run away if they have had enough of my waffle :rotfl:

Count me in for wanting the Fantasy review too!

Oh the pressure, the pressure :rotfl:

Yay Linda! I love your reviews - definitely signing up for this one. Your cookie bar looks awesome! I need to make a trip to Roaring Fork...:thumbsup2

Roaring Fork do wonderful waffles for breakfast in the mornings and they have a superb carrot cake cup cake as well :cloud9:

Oooh, I'm in. Great start - burgers and flatbread - perfect Disney food :lovestruc I love my first look at Disney fries, with the bits of skin on the ends :cool1:

I literally dream of Disney fries when I am back home :cloud9:

Joining the review!!!

Finally all caught up also. I've been away from the boards for the last few weekds and boy, there are lots to catch up! ;)

Loved reading your Ohana breakfast review. We ate there on our last trip (both breakfast and dinner) and had wonderful, relaxing meal despite it's character meal. I think it's more relaxing than other character meal b/c it's served as to buffet so you don't have to get up in between the character meets. We also loved the view of MK castle and meeting Stitch. :thumbsup2

Great review of 'Ohana! Sounds like the perfect way to start your vacation. :cloud9:

Ohana looks good! What a fun way to start your cruise day, with a breakfast with Mickey and the gang.

We have not been to Ohana for breakfast in a long time, but the food looks tasty, so it might creep back on our list. ;)
