Aquatica in November

I am looking for any information about going to Aquatica in November. We are doing DC and just found out our ticket now includes entry to Aquatica. We would like to spend at least a few hours there but I am worried about the weather. I know DC's water is heated. Is the water on the slides and pools at Aquatica heated also when the weather is chilly? What kind of crowds should I expect in November, the week of Thanksgiving?

Water Temperature

At Aquatica, the water is as warm as the South Seas themselves--actually, warmer. We have a state-of-the-art climate control system that adjusts the water temperature according to the weather so that it's always just right. The water can be heated up to 84 degrees.

Not sure of what you are looking at as far as crowd levels go.

Although temperatures usually start to drop in November,it's still not a super cold month and will probably have a good amount of days with highs still in the upper 70's to the low 80's that would probably be warm enough to do a waterpark,especially if you're coming from a colder climate.You would still have to wait until 3-4 days out before your trip to figure out what the temperatures will be like.Although you could get a day with highs in the mid 80's you could also get a day with highs in the low 60's with low temperatures in the 40's.

That late in November it will probably be way too chilly in the a.m to be in the water. If you wait until lunch time or later it will probably be warm enough but if you are going during Thanksgiving holidays then the crowds would probably be massive by lunch time.

Last year we were there between 10/27 and 11/5 and the day we went to the water park it was in the low 70's and even with the water warmed it was too chilly to be out there and when you got out of the water it felt COLD. By around 1 or 2 pm it had warmed up but nobody ever waits until afternoon to go to the water parks, they usually hit them at park open.

We will be attempting to go to Aquatica this November too between 11/11 and 11/18 because we get it free with our Discovery Cove entry but if it is too chilly when we wake up we will be skipping it. We will go to Discovery Cove even if it is chilly because it is costing us $1200 for the day, so we will just have to suffer through it. =)

When we went to Aquatica last December the kids had no problem going into the water right at opening. The water is heated, so if it's cold out it'll still feel good. It was over 80 out when we arrived at 10am last year.

We went to Aquatica on Dec 27 and 29 in 2011. Kids did well. The big kid area climbing thing in back we found the water to be too cold. All else was fine. We got there at 10AM opening, hit the adult rides before crowd crushed. Then kiddie area rest of day.
