:dance3: WELCOME :dance3:

Welcome to our pre-trip report!! For our next trip, my mom is joining us! She'll be 59 and this is her first Disney trip!!! We have a long time to plan this time (a year VS the 48 hours we planned our last trip in!!), so join us in the fun!!!

Past Disney Trips:
January 2008 we honeymooned at Animal Kingdom Lodge! At age 19 and 21, this was both of our first trips to WDW! We had an amazing time. In March of 2009, we went again and took our first little one - Ava who was only 10 weeks old! We had a great time and WDW was easy-peasy with a tiny baby! We also went back in November/December 2011 and had an excellent time - this was our son Levi's first trip at 15 months old!! We decided to go only 48 hours before we left - a total whirlwind trip! You can read that Trip Report here - I've been slacking and have only made it through the first few days so far!

*~* The Cast of Characters *~*

Our cast for this year's trip lost a member and gained a new one! Due to work obligations as well as being a little burned out after 4 trips in 5 years, hubby is sitting this trip out. He's saving up vacation time for our first ever SoCal trip next year including 5 wonderful days at Disneyland! Instead, my mom is joining us for her very first trip! I'm very excited for our mother-daughter-grandkids trip!

Me - Amber - 24 I am the main Disney lover and planner! If Orlando was closer to South Carolina, I'd live there and work at Disney World as a parade girl, furry character, or balloon holder! Sadly WDW is 510 miles from my house and I'd miss my mama too much!! If we can ever get my dad to agree to it, we are all moving to Orlando! I stay at home with my two babies and am a full time student - working towards becoming a Certified Nurse-Midwife. I have the 2yr clinical part of my nursing degree left, followed by a 3 year specialty and Master's degree program. It's a long road, but worth it! I am also a childbirth educator and birth doula. My friends call me a modern day hippie because I do alot of non-mainstream things like cloth diaper, babywear, do all organic, co-sleep, breastfeed until my little one's are ready to stop, ect... A bit "different" I suppose - but I'm ok with that! My favorite character is Tinkerbell.

DD - Ava - 3 Ava is a total princesses lover! She adores Cinderella the most, but Rapunzel and Belle are close behind!! She was at Disney for her first time when she was 10 weeks old, but of course doesn't remember a thing. She was two weeks shy of turning 3 on our last trip, and this time she'll be just two weeks shy of 4 when we go to WDW and we'll be celebrating her birthday on our trip! She's very excited because she'll get to go to the BBB this year!! Ava is a complete mini-me when it comes to Disney! Her love for Disney overtakes her! At night when we lay down for bed instead of a story she asks to talk about Disney World. I ask for five things and she names the five things she wants to talk about. Most often it's the Cinderella Castle playset she's going to get, the Disney potato head she wants from Once Upon A Toy, The Yeti on Expedition Everest, our hotel, and the rides she'll finally be tall enough for! Her favorite character is Cinderella.

DS - Levi - almost 2!! Levi was still a little young to fully enjoy Disney on our last trip, but he loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse now!!! He's also a huge Little Einsteins and Jake and the Neverland Pirates fan! He flips out when he sees anything Disney - he loves it! Levi is getting his first haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop this trip! He was super duper scared of the characters last year - he hid screaming under the table at Crystal Palace... Hoping for a better experience this time though!! Levi's favorite character is Mickey Mouse!

DG (Grammy) - Suzanne - 59. She is a Disney lover already and has never been! This is her first trip to Disney World! This is most likely a once in a lifetime trip for her, so we are really making the most of it (though I'm sure we'll get her back some time!!). She watches parade and firework youtube videos, watches ride videos to see what is 'tame' enough for her, and is completely thrilled and excited to go!! She deserves this trip more than anyone I know. She is amazing - my biggest supporter - my number one fan. She deals with so much! She works full time plus helps me take care of my kids when I have to study or be at school. She has a house FULL right now (my dad's mother is living with them now because she's unable to care for herself anymore, and my kids and I are staying with her too while my husband is gone for weeks at a time due to his work). She has a high-stress job and often a high-stress home! She needs a break and this is the perfect magical escape for her! Her favorite character is Eeyore!

Whistle While You Work!

I got my first sewing machine today!!! I am so excited to start learning!! I've started a nice collection of Disney fabric to make custom Disney outfits for the kiddos as well as matching shirts for all 3 of the adults! I can't wait - I have so many ideas!!

I'm also making matching bows for Ava for each outfit.

Ready to get started!!!

I've neglected this poor TR long enough!! Not to mention our plans have changed and we are now going in November 2012 instead of February 2013!! Sooo let's get this party started, shall we?

The booking window for our ADRs has already opened up, so I'm hoping I'll still be able to score most of our top choices! Tonight I'm pouring over EasyWDW and TP's to see what parks we want to do on which days. Hoping to get that nailed down tonight so that I can start planning and booking ADRs too!

So tonight I sat down with Touring Plan's crowd calender and the crowd predictions from EasyWDW to see if I could come up with a plan. After several times rearranging, here we have it!

November 26th Arrival day. Unpack, get settled, explore Art of Animation! Swim/splash pad if warm enough, do Downtown Disney if not.
November 27th Magic Kingdom & MVMCP
November 28th Hollywood Studios
November 29th Epcot
November 30th Animal Kingdom
December 1st Resort Hopping & more pool if warm enough!
December 2nd Epcot
December 3rd Magic Kingdom
December 4th Departure day. Animal Kingdom 1/2 day

Crowd calender *looks* great - here's hoping it IS great! All of these are the #1 recommended days from EasyWDW apart from December 3rd.... December 3rd is actually a "stay away from MK day", but I really want my mom to see the Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade and regular Wishes! Our other MK day is a MVMCP day so she won't see any of that on that day. Crowd is predicted a 7.0 from TP, so if we plan right hopefully it won't be too bad!

November 26th -------- (no park day)
November 27th 1.4
November 28th 3.8
November 29th 2.8
November 30th 3.3
December 1st --------- (no park day)
December 2nd 1.2
December 3rd 7.0
December 4th 3.3

Very low crowds during the time you're going! We're doing the same....going to MK on a party day & a non-party day....so we can experience all the different shows!!

Plans look great... we always ended going to MK and Epcot for at least 1 1/2 days a piece... I see your doing MVMCP, we are still deciding if it will be worth it with a 2 1/2 year old.

Joining in from the December Roll Call!! Looks like you have the starts of an awesome trip later this year!! Can't wait to see what your mom thinks of all this!

Yes, and I'm hoping it holds true! We were there last year at a nearly identical time (Nov 29-Dec 4) and I must say it was more crowded than I had hoped! Definitely not 1-4 levels. We didn't do the recommended parks though, in fact, I believe some were the most *not* recommended. This time we'll follow the recommended parks and I think it will be alot better!

We did it last year and the kids were almost 3 and 17 months. It wasn't worth it because we didn't plan.... We didn't take a midday break and arrived at MK at 9:30 am - so the kids were wiped out... They were tired, cranky, and didn't want to do *ANYTHING*.... We missed the first parade and never made it to the second, Ava melted down during the fireworks and we missed those too! It was just a mess! Apart from riding Space Mountain with a 5 minute wait, it was a total bust... This year we are trying again because I know it *CAN* be amazingly fun at that age. We are doing rope drop and then breaking after lunch for some pool/resort/rest time. Probably will head back around 5pm, get dinner, and then party! We'll do the FIRST parade this time and have a game plan too! I think it will go much better!

Welcome aboard :cool1:

I booked BB Boutique today!! I really wanted the first appointment of the day so that we could get in before the park opened, but the earliest they had was 10:20. If all goes well with ADR booking, we'll be doing breakfast in our room, BBB, Cinderella's Royal Table lunch immediately after BBB, and Cinderella's Once Upon A Dream Dinner at 1900 Park Fare for dinner! MK has EMH that day, so we'll be back to end with the Main St Electrical Parade and Wishes! The perfect princess day!

Ava decided she wants to be transformed into Belle at the BBB and I couldn't be more thrilled! I've always had a soft spot for Beauty & The Beast :cloud9:

So - that means I need to buy two costumes this year. Belle for the BBB and Cinderella for 1900 Park Fare dinner (per Ava's request - both the dinner and the costume!) Depending on availability, I may swap 1900 Park Fare to our other MK night and do Be Our Guest on this night so that she can wear her Belle dress... Hmmm..

I decided to get a little crafty and make the kids homemade autograph books this time. Each will have two books since the books didn't hold all the characters. The first book covers are done as well as a few pages! I think they are going to turn out spectacular!

The inside will have one page devoted to each character I know for sure we will see (Meet & Greets, Character Meals, ect..). I also have about 5 pages per book that are decorated but no character stickers for the "extras" we might see! Each page has a piece of colored cardstock for a 4x6 photo with the character as well as a sticker with the character depicted, and a blank space for the character to sign.

I'm excited about this project - DD loved helping me too!

* Note: I completed the covers before switching dates from Feb '13 to November '12! I do need to change the "3" to "2"

The books are cute.....but I'm confused about them saying 2013?? :confused3 Your trip is this December right?? :goodvibes

lol - I can see why that would be confusing! Probably should have mentioned that the covers were completed awhile ago and we were planning Feb 13! I just have to pull the "3" off and change to a "2"!

I love the crafty books.
Last year when I went I had the character sign an apron for my friend. Probably nothing new to people but it was a nice gift for her... lol.
