Bring in your own food?

Can you bring your own food into Sea World as you can into the WDW parks?

From the Sea World website:

"Restaurants and concession stands are located conveniently throughout the park. Large hard or soft coolers, glass containers, food, drinks and picnic lunches may not be taken into the park. Guests with special diets, baby formula or baby food may bring their items into the park."

I brought a very small (small purse size) soft cooler for sandwiches and they would not let us bring it in.:sad1:

I know I've seen people in the park eating sandwiches, and food brought from outside the park. I think it just depends on who you get that's checking your bags.

I know that FOR SURE, you can't bring any plastic lids/straws. So if you get a drink from MdDonalds or Wendy's; they do make you throw away the lid and straw.

Can you, perhaps, if you can get away with it. Are you supposed to; no.

You may bring in snacks (individual size servings) along with bottled water.

Hope this helps.

you can bring in a small soft sided cooler (like 15 inches by 14 inches etc)
you may bring in water and small individual snack items. No big lunches or big bags of stuff. She said it was the same at SW, aquatic and bush gardens. So yes, you can but keep it small

Customer Service is not the ones doing the bag check. There are signs posted at the entrance and the policy listed on the website. I have seen sandwiches not allowed in.

Aquatica is even worse. From the website-

Outside Food Policy
Aquatica has clear limitations on what types of food/beverage purchased outside are allowed to be brought in to the park. Coolers are permitted, but they must be no larger than 16-quart size; large insulated bags are available for purchase at Guest Relations. For guests with special dietary requirements a limited number of unlimited daily picnic size lockers are available for rent at the park. Two picnic areas are located at the bus drop-off area at the front of the park and guests may re-enter these areas as often as they would like during an operating day.

The following food and beverage items are not permitted:
•Picnic lunches or other family portion servings (such as large bags of chips, 2 liter sodas, sandwiches, hot dogs, slices of pizza, subs, fried chicken, etc)
•Alcohol
Coolers may contain:

•Snacks in individual serving sizes (cracker packs, under 3 oz bags of chips, fruit snacks, etc)
•Bottled water
•Baby food in plastic containers
For your safety, the following items are not permitted inside Aquatica: Glass containers, firearms, straight blade knives, large pointed scissors, pocketknives with a blade over two inches, pepper sprays, utensils and flammable liquids.

For the safety of our animals the following items are not permitted inside Aquatica: Plastic straws, balloons, cup lids.

Note to self... be sure to bring the small pair of pointed scissors for Aquatica:banana:

Ummm....pretty sure all these posts say the same thing. Question was, can food be brought in. Answer is, yes in individual size portions and not full lunches such as sandwiches that is allowed in WDW.

Hmmm thanks for trying to correct me.....

The reason I added the info from the Aquatica is they list more specific quidelines. It was in response to the pp who was told the SW guidelines were the same as Aquatica.

For example "small cooler" may not meet Aquatica's specific guidelines of "no larger than 16-quart size".

Aquatica also trys to limit food brought in by those with special needs "For guests with special dietary requirements a limited number of unlimited daily picnic size lockers are available for rent at the park." Where Sea World allows those with special needs to bring in food.

We brought in those individual boxes of cereal (bought milk at the park) and some fruit and water without any issues.

We brought in snacks and water and had no issues. You're not allowed to bring in a full bag of food like at Disney though.

We take the same soft sided cooler to SW/Aquatica and all Diz parks. Always pack water bottles, gatoraid, grapes, cheese sticks, apple slices, Gogurt, etc. Also always pack dry items like animal crackers, rice kirspy treats, etc. The only issu I have had is at SW with the little plastic straws on juice boxes. No go..
