AGLET – We're Gonna Tour The World Together! Updated 11/9!!!

Oh, you had one of the best tables in the place! The food really is great, isn't it? Makes me want to work into our upcoming trip somehow...:lmao: But I think two signatures this time is probably sufficient. Hmmm.... I think we had that same sushi when I was there in April and it was amazing.

Sorry about your dessert. I'm not a huge fan of dessert immediately after dinner, nor do I like some of the super over the top type desserts they have on the menus at Disney. Oh well.

Sorry your dessert was disappointing, but I am so glad the rest of the meal was great!

The Contemporary confused me SO much when we were there! I think that plus AKL convinced me I could never, ever stay deluxe...they are far too confusing for me. :rotfl:

Hi! :wave2: I'm very VERY fashionably late, but I'm joining in!

I have a nice lazy day ahead of me, so I'm going to spend that time catching up on your TR! :goodvibes

These Contemporary mosaic pictures are making me unbelievably excited about my upcoming trip... you have no idea! So THANKS!

I want to find the reflection of the chef at work... but I can't! How sad.

I'm sorry you didn't like your dessert. That's such a bummer. I'm glad the rest of your food was amazing though! It sounds like such an awesome place.

Here is some interesting reading on the mural.

We're not 'foodies' like you guys are, so we don't know the difference in high quality or low, but we are sure looking forward to our eating experiences this summer. We will hopefully be trying out 4-5 new places - a mix of table and counter service. I am already having happy thoughts of not only the food, but of someone else making the mess and cleaning up the kitchen. :)

I agree with everyone else -- your haircut looks great! :thumbsup2

Wingnut really said "waferness"? I didn't even know that was a word! But it sounds good, so I don't see why not. You two always do such a great job with your food reviews. I really need to book an ADR for Cali Grill...next time it's high on the list.

Poolrat Pat posted a picture of the 5-legged goat recently in this post.

Glad you liked your meal at the California Grill.

I would love to stay at the CR again (Stayed there in 87) if only for the proximity to MK but I do agree with your assessment of it's "Airport feel " of it.

Too bad you couldn't see Wishes from that awesome table but at least you had seen it already that trip.

Your hair looks great! It suits you very well.

OMG, the mystery Tokelau door! It took Farrell and I forever to find it too. After we did we were like "oh......I feel stupid." :lmao:

Dinner looks great, although I'm sorry that you had a disappointing dessert. That's the worst part, because dessert is one of the best parts of dinner.

Awesome Cali Grill Review! We have an October Reservation there at 7:50pm with Wishes at 9pm!! Your review made me look forward to it even more. I have to ask though... didn't the flatbread fill you up? Or is it smaller than it looked in the pictures?

Sorry there was so many coffee flavored dessert... Those winter months don't have a whole lot of fresh fruit options...

I'm finally caught up!

Love the new do (hair do that is!). My daughter, her best friend Zane (yep, he's a boy!!) and I, all donated to locks of love. It was a great experience for all of us......especially Zane, he was tired of being mistaken for a girl, he was 12:rotfl:!

Also, love that picture of Wingnut's dessert, looked professional!

What a lovely dinner at the California Grill! Too bad about the dessert being less than wonderful, though.

I :lovestruc the Mary Blair mosaic -- actually I love anything Mary Blair did. I even found a pin of the five-legged goat on eBay.

You're right, the Contemporary is kind of like an airport! There is something about it that makes me want to stay there...I absolutely HATE their pool area though, so if I did, I'd have to a split stay, but I love the rooms (which is weird because they are SO modern, and that is so not me!) and I like the idea of being 2 seconds from the MK!

Going to Cali Grill is really confusing, I had no idea where to check in at first when we went there!

Great review, everything you guys got looks so good! :cool1: I'm sorry you didn't like your dessert, though. :(

Oh my gosh, those food pictures are seriously making me drool! That filet looks sooooo good, you can tell how tender and juicy it is just from the photo!

I'm sorry your dessert wasn't very good, but I would have been in heaven with a coffee dessert! Wingnut's looks super yummy!

I need to get back to the Cali grill, it has been way too long (Oct 2008, I think?) Maybe I'll book just DH and I an ADR on our trip next April, and have my parents watch the kiddos. :)

I understand the coffee dessert issue. While I do enjoy coffee (good coffee), and am not a fan of mocha or coffee desserts. I guess I just like my coffee hot!

Of course, I am not alone in thinking your new do looks great! Good for you for donating!

I think your assessment of both the Poly and CR are exactly how I have looked at them... Poly is too brown and CR feels like an airport.

Sorry you were SO close to watching wishes from CG... but at least you were not counting on it being the ONE time you watched it.

Your dinner looks so good, btw!!! YUM! Sorry though that your dessert wasn't to your liking. The bananas do look good at least.

Your meals look amazing! :) The desserts look wonderful. So sorry you didn't love yours. I do love you pictures and the unique reflections in the glass. I am disappointed that you did not watch Wishes from the observation area, but it can get a little chilly up there. I was cold waiting for it to start in December.

Still in all, glad you had such a great experience! Isn't it wonderful watching the sun set from the Cali Grill windows?

Great review of Cali Grill!

I love Wingnut's descriptions of the food ;) We ate at CG on our last trip and loved it. I think it's great that they're so focused on seasonality that you'll never have the same meal twice. I also had the filet, but it was served totally differently. :thumbsup2

My DH isn't a chocolate eater (strange I know) so he had the same problem choosing dessert. I liked both of ours, but he only liked mine. :lmao:

Sorry that you didn't get to see Wishes from up there. Did you go out to the observation deck to look around. It was a stunning view.

I love Community! The movie parody episodes are brilliant, but my favorite episode ever was the pillow fight one from this season. Then again, I'd be happy if the whole show was Troy and Abed.

Thanks!! It really is cool how seasonal the menu is there! No, we didn't go out on the observation deck, although I kind of wish we had!

I can't imagine not liking chocolate! (But I know there are many people who can't imagine how I don't like coffee!)

Yes!!! That episode was hilarious! How fantastic would a "Troy and Abed in the Morning" spin-off be??

We loved California Grill and have a ressie there in September. Can't wait !! I love how you use monorail in verb form "monorailed". Hilarious.

Yay for having a CG ADR! I want to make one right now (too bad we don't have plans to go to Disney! :rotfl:)

Sorry about your dessert. I'm not a huge fan of dessert immediately after dinner, nor do I like some of the super over the top type desserts they have on the menus at Disney. Oh well.

It really was a fantastic table! Which two signatures are you going to again? Wingnut LOVED that sushi!

I don't mind dessert at any time, but this was just way too super-sweet for my taste!

Sorry your dessert was disappointing, but I am so glad the rest of the meal was great!

The Contemporary confused me SO much when we were there! I think that plus AKL convinced me I could never, ever stay deluxe...they are far too confusing for me. :rotfl:

It really was a fantastic meal!!!

Hahaha I'm glad we weren't the only ones! It was so confusing! AKL doesn't seem TOO confusing, once you figure out the whole bus to building order.

Hi! :wave2: I'm very VERY fashionably late, but I'm joining in!

I have a nice lazy day ahead of me, so I'm going to spend that time catching up on your TR! :goodvibes

Welcome!!! Glad to have you here!! :goodvibes

Hahaha glad to help!!! :thumbsup2

Right here:

At that point, I had such a wonderful meal, I didn't let it bother me too much! It really was a fantastic meal!

Thanks for sharing that!!!

I always get so excited to try new dining places at Disney! Where are the new places you're going to be trying??

I agree with everyone else -- your haircut looks great! :thumbsup2

According to him, it seems to be! Thanks! You definitely should, it's so so good!

Thanks for sharing! I think I picked the wrong goat to photograph!

Thanks!!! Yes, we had already seen it, so we decided to share the pixie dust of that table's view for the next group!

Your hair looks great! It suits you very well.

LOL I thought of you guys when I was writing this update! I'm glad we weren't the only ones that took several days to discover that door right out in the open!

Dessert really is the part I look forward to most, but I had had already so much fantastic food!

Thanks!!! Your timing sounds much better than ours!!

LOL yes, the flatbread was a bit filling, but I was a pretty determined eater that night! I wasn't stuffed after eating it, but there was no way I was letting any of that filet go to waste!

I love fresh fruit desserts, they're one of my favorites!

Thanks!! That's so great that the three of you were able to donate!! :thumbsup2

Thank you! :goodvibes

What a lovely dinner at the California Grill! Too bad about the dessert being less than wonderful, though.

I :lovestruc the Mary Blair mosaic -- actually I love anything Mary Blair did. I even found a pin of the five-legged goat on eBay.

The Mary Blair mosaic really is fantastic! I love her artwork too! That pin sounds awesome!

Great review, everything you guys got looks so good! :cool1: I'm sorry you didn't like your dessert, though. :(

Hahaha it kind of is! It is cool that you can walk to MK, but the resort really doesn't appeal to me.

I had read where to check-in, but that didn't really help when we were actually there! It was confusing!!

Thanks!! The meal really was fantastic!

He LOVED his entire meal, especially the dessert!

That'd be fun if you guys were able to go back to CG!! :goodvibes

I understand the coffee dessert issue. While I do enjoy coffee (good coffee), and am not a fan of mocha or coffee desserts. I guess I just like my coffee hot!

Welcome!! Glad to have you here!! :goodvibes

I'm not really a fan of coffee flavor in any form! Wingnut loves it though, he was very happy with his dessert!

Of course, I am not alone in thinking your new do looks great! Good for you for donating!

LOL they really are! I feel like there's just a lot more that could be done with the themes of those resorts!

Oh definitely! If we hadn't seen it yet, we'd have been out on the balcony for sure!

It really was a fantastic meal! The little brulee'd bananas were good!

Your meals look amazing! :) The desserts look wonderful. So sorry you didn't love yours. I do love you pictures and the unique reflections in the glass. They really were!! It really was pretty cold at night when we were there (strange to type that while it's 90 outside here today!), so I think we were also avoiding the chilly wind!

Thanks!! The sunset really was gorgeous from there!
