Ralph Brennan's Sunday Brunch

We have done this once and really enjoyed it. We're going to try to fit it in again on one of our summer visits. Here is a link to the menu:

They have added a few breakfast items and seem to be serving a number of items from their regular lunch menu. The kids' buffet was a big hit with my boys, and that's one of the reasons we want to go back before the older boy ages out.
When we went there was live music, a guy who came around to the tables and did magic tricks, and a cotton candy machine for the kids.

I really like the Sunday Brunch at the Jazz Kitchen. There are lots of good things to eat.

Bourbon Street Sampler - the calamari was our favorite!

Bananas Foster French Toast - very sweet and pretty yummy!

Seafood Pot Pie

BBQ Shrimp & Grits - the shrimp were cooked really well and the grits are my favorite (nothing like instant grits, more like polenta). The sauce had a bite to it.

One thing to note is that the menu on-line is a little out of date. I know that the "Grits & Smothered Pork" is no longer on the brunch menu. The Bourbon Street Samplers has calamari, BBQ ribs, coconut shrimps, and deep fried artichoke hearts (no spring rolls or sliders anymore).

The prices vary depending on which items you order. The prices are listed by each item on the menu linked in a previous post.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I love the idea of brunch! We have just enough time on our Sunday morning to ride our last few favorite rides and have brunch before having to drive home. Sadly, I don't think my DH will like the Ralph Brennan's menu, he is pretty picky. Does anybody else have any other brunch suggestions? TIA. :goodvibes

I had forgotten about that! The live music is really a nice touch. Just note, if you sit right near the stage, it might be a bit hard to have a conversation while they're playing.

Rather than "hijack" this thread, I would suggest you start a thread asking about brunch suggestions. Most the folks who read this thread are going to be interested in Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Brunch only, but there might be other folks out there who have yummy brunch suggestions that will pass up this thread because it's not about something they're interested in.

Is your DH too picky to eat a burger or an order of beignets? If you are really wanting to go there for yourself, maybe you can show him the menu and see if there is something basic he could eat while you try something more adventurous.

Sorry to hijack, but has anyone done the Gospel Brunch at House of Blues? I bought tickets to it for my trip next week. It seems like fun, but I'd love to hear from people who have done it. I did a thread search, but the few posts I found were about the WDW one.

Thank you for posting this ! Was thinking of doing this the Sunday we are there but was unsure about the menu , and the photos are helpful as well. Thanks for posting all this , it looks yummy!

He likes burgers, but according to the posted menu, he would take half the stuff off, and he likes fries, but won't eat Cajun fries. He probably wouldn't eat a beignet. Just think of your pickiest 2 year old, and that would be my DH. :headache:

figment_jii: Thanks for the suggestion, I will probably make my own thread soon re: other brunch options.

Pretty funny. As a not very adventurous eater and as someone who lives with picky eaters, I can understand. Sounds like you may need to look elsewhere. That burger is pretty good though, and I never hesitate to ask for things I don't like to be left off. Also, I'm not a big fan of Cajun fries, so I ask to have the garlic fries substituted. They are yummy! I suppose for your DH you would have to ask them to substitute whatever their plainest fries are. The fries on the kid meal plates looked kind of boring.

Thanks, everybody. I think we will be trying this.
BTW, the Gospel Brunch at House of Blues is fantastic! I've never seen so much food in my life. And it was all delicious.
Only suggestion I have is don't sit too close to the stage.
