What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

Sweet 'N Low. LOL. I am a big iced tea drinker, but I like Sweet 'N Low better than sugar because it dissolves better. I get a baggie and carry my Sweet 'N Low with me to the parks for when we eat. DH just shakes his head at me. Hey...I know what I like. :)

Same here except for me it's packets of Stevia. you should try it. Sweet N Low and Splenda are horrible neurotoxic garbage! The stevia is all natural, no chemicals :)

I am only on page 40 so far so someone else may have mentioned this alternative but. For the alternative to cup lids for Popsicle drips...(which btw thanks for the tip i wouldnt have thought to pack that) in the summer time around our house we always use Cupcake liners. The paper ones work pretty well unless you have an unusually slow eater with lots and lots and lots of drips then i would recommend the aluminum foil ones! ( i actually converted a couple of silicone ones(found at a yard sale) with a hole cut in it for this sole purpose if you wanted to have them reusable)
They are cheap most people probably have them already
They weigh practically nothing and take up almost no room!
You can find them in super cute and even disney patterns!

I also think the cupcake liner or even mini cupcake liner would make a good alternative to people looking for a "condiment cup" (except that it wouldnt be something I would want to hold in my hand and walk around with dipping out of!

We also bring a power bar with at least 8 outlets in it. We use the power bar to plug in our 4 cell phones, camera batteries, ipods, and anything else which needs charging. It helps when there are only 2 or 3 plus available to charge things at night. :goodvibes

Thank you SO MUCH for the power strip advice! With 4 people, each with cell phones, plus a laptop and/or tablet coming with us in November, this is EXCELLENT advice!

We have brought dollar store ponchos in case of rain. I once brought a nice camping style poncho. It was so big and thick there was NO WAY I was carrying that around in the parks!

For our first trip with my girls were little, we brought pennies and quarters in the little M&M mini's containers =- ready to go for the penny presses. And we went through all our pennies and found the oldest ones and cleaned them up first and then stacked them in - 2 pennies + 1 quarter - This worked GREAT!

For me it's Bonine or Dramamine...Why? Because I love the rides, but they don't always love me :confused3

Same here! Especially anything that spins! I can NOT ride the Teacups :guilty: And last time, after riding Tower of Terror a couple of times, I started feeling yucky. So a Dramamine and a lot of caffeine (so I don't get too sleepy!) gets me through! ::yes::

I haven't read this entire thread yet, but I am already fully convinced that most of you own Mary Poppins style carpet bags that you use for your WDW packing. Completely jealous! :lmao:

Dog tags for the kids.

Put my name on it and my phone number and lace it into their shoe. If they get lost anybody can call me. My kids are still a little young and don't always get my number correct and if lost they may freak and forget.

I keep seeing people bringing night lights. And I found a great way to make the light less bright/more festive. A Christmas bulb will fit many standard night lights. My hardware store sells bulbs by the bulb and after Christmas the bulbs are dirt cheap. Kinda nice having a blue light rather than a white light. And at halloween I switch to orange, Christmas I go to red.

Me too! There is no way all this stuff is going to fit into three little carryons! :confused3

I am super excited about the popsicle "catch" idea with the drink lids. My youngest is Autistic with Sensory Integration Disorder and he eats popsicles and ice cream unusually slow so it drips a lot and then when that happens he has a melt down because his hands are then dirty and sticky so this will be a lifesaver and help my youngest enjoy some Mickey ice cream!!!! Thanks so much for the tip!

* some dough (flour mixed with water) in a small plastic bag to keep it soft (for flight; in case our girl sticks it in her mouth, no need to panic)

TSA will confiscate putty/playdough/dough. Looks like plastic explosives.

So many posters bring toothbrush cups or suction cup thingies for their toothbrushes.

I always put my toothbrush away as housekeeping will spray cleanser on the mirror and it drifts down onto anything on the counter....

I will start a list of not so normal items to pack for use at WDW.

We bring a McDonalds takeout cardboard 4 cup holder. We bring plastic Disney cups in 4 different patterns, whcih fit into the McDonalds 4 cup holder. What we use it for is a tooth brush holder. Everyone gets a cup assigned to them, to place their toothbrush in. The toothbrushes are organized and do not touch the counter. :goodvibes

We also bring a power bar with at least 8 outlets in it. We use the power bar to plug in our 4 cell phones, camera batteries, ipods, and anything else which needs charging. It helps when there are only 2 or 3 plus available to charge things at night. :goodvibes

We bring ziplock bags in quart and gallon sizes. We use them to store any food we bring back to the room (no bugs please) and our cell phones & camera's when it rains. :goodvibes

CLOROX OR LYSOL WIPES--we wipe off remote and phone and dresser and nitestand where we will touch and then we do the bathroom as well...just as precautions and door handles...also table and chair the wood areas as we lay a towel over the seats. Then we carry diaper wipes for in the parks to wash hands more often as always touching hand railings etc. since we been doing this have had lots less colds and flu. takes a few mintues on the first day for most and then done. we also take a bottle of plain yellow MUSTARD (suggest unopened in a plastic baggy as may explode on plane) it is --wonderful--if one gets legs cramps or charley horses from walking to much. take one heaping spoon full and wash it down with glass of water and cramp is gone..some may laugh as my DBL did until he had to try it one night...:woohoo:

Small waterproof box for room key, credit card, cash, car key. Loops on your swimsuit strap, so you can relax and swim without worrying about watching your stuff at the hotel pool.

I got mine years ago at a dive shop, but I found the one pictured above at amazon for $7.25. Mine just has the cord at the top of the box, not the ring or caribeaner...not sure if they'd make it too bulky...

This is sad and we make fun of ourselves all the time (as does the rest of the family) but my mom and I grab those round Mickey stickers whenever we can. We are spillers. We WILL spill on our shirts and sometimes Shout wipes and Tide pens don't do the trick. So we whip out a Mickey sticker and cover the evidence. Sometimes we look silly, but an oddly placed Mickey sticker looks a lot better than a big stain!

And when I'm at home and I spill (which is all the time) DH just looks at me and shouts "Mickey sticker"!

So, that was you, with the stickers placed in odd places! ;) I just thought some kid had stuck them on you, and you didn't want to offend him so you kept the stickers on. :rotfl:

It's taken me almost two days but I finally read all 55 pages. Holy moley. I have lists going now, and am so appreciative of everything suggested!! We are driving, but I don't want to over or under pack...for you 'veterans', it's a big help! Many many thanks!!:worship:
