new reservation at VGC

We just made our first reservation for an upcoming trip to Disneyland. It will be my wife and our 3 children (1,5,8). I am looking for suggestions on a room request for this trip. We currently have a 1 bedroom villa booked. It is my understanding that although DVC does not gurantee requests they will try to fulfill them if possible.

Congratuations! I'm sure your trip will be awesome. Our first trip to VGC will be in February and we are so excited. It was recommended we request a high floor, park view. Sounded like a good plan. Perhaps you should consider it, too.

Depends on what you would like. High floor Theme park paradise pier view will have a great view of DCA but I did worry a bit for my sanity after hearing the William Tell Overture from the Silly Symphony swings all day long. High floor theme park view of the Redwood Creek area has a different view of DCA and is more quiet. And pool view allows you to see how full the hot tub is!

LOL! We also requested high floor, theme park view and was over Paradise Pier and it definately can be loud when the doors are open! However we really enjoyed the sights and sounds and thought it was better than then the BWV view we've had and better then the downtown Disney view from the DLH in DLR. Once the door was closed we thought it was just fine, but we are all heavy sleepers. I have read other posts that people did find it loud if people where trying to sleep before the park closes. Not sure if that would be the case with younger kids like you have.

Overall DLR and VGC is awesome! We love visiting there Enjoy your trip.

We went in May of 2010 and are going back in Oct 2012. It is a wonderful resort. Attached is a copy of a map I found on the VGC Lovers page. It gives great detail! Looks like theme park views are 02-10 & 20-22 side of the blg. The 03-09 are pool view.

How do you request a park view? Is it one of the choices on the menu that members can choose, like "High Floor"?

I was told requests need to be made at time of booking..previously I had made requests upon check in, but now make them when I book, so I'd call and ask for what you'd like. We also like upper floor park view and really kind of enjoy hearing the Overture and the screams from Goofy's
