Flight Arrival ? Boarding Time in NYC

The flight we are taking gets in to LaGuardia at 12:08. Since the ship sails at 4:00 pm, is this enough time? I am talking about the Canadian cruise in September out of NYC. Or should we fly in the day before and spend the night? thanks!

We always prefer to fly in the night before. It makes for a much more relaxed cruise morning and we get to the ship refreshed. Flying in the day of the cruise can be way too hectic--you get up at 4 am to get to the airport, pray the planes are on time, etc.

Theoretically, your time should be fine...but you'll be happier if you come in the evening before.

It would be much more accurate to say the flight is scheduled to get into LaGuardia at 12:08 p.m.

When the flight actually arrives and when you actually get your luggage might be a different story. If your itinerary includes a connection, the risk is even higher.

Even if the airline could guarantee that the flight(s) will be on time (which, of course, they can't), I'd still be uncomfortable with a 12:08 p.m. arrival time if the ship sails at 4:00 p.m.

I've had to wait an hour for luggage at LaGuardia and I've sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic trying to get from LaGuardia to Manhattan.

With a regular vacation, such as a WDW vacation, a late arrival just means you've missed a few hours of fun at your destination.

With a cruise, a late arrival can mean that the ship sails without you.

That is cutting it way to close. Laguardia is known for it flights being late. Bad weather can also cause havoc at Laguardia. Also don't forget about the traffic getting from the airport to the ship.
If you can, go the day before and enjoy an evening in Manhattan.

Totally agree plus the all aboard time is no later than 3:30p. Leaving you less than 3 1/2 hours to get your luggage and to the port. If your cruise leaves on a weekday you will have to deal w/ commuter hell. A NY mile might take 15mins to drive.
