9b vs Navigators Veranda on Magic

I've just paid for an upgrade, but am worried I'll be disappointed. We love the big porthole view of the water on a 9B and we love the plexiglass veranda, but it's too pricey right now and I'm afraid to wait for a port upgrade in case none are available, so I just went from 9b (cabin 2582) to a 7A (cabin 5640) on the magic. I think I can live with standing up to see the view, but am worried the cabin will seem darker than our 9B and we'll miss watching the water go by from inside the cabin, looking at a wall from the couch. Any thoughts from people who have done a 9b or c and also a navigators? (I know a plexiglass would be the best, but it's too much right now, and I'd really like a balcony.)

We were in a 7A in January and we had a lot of light. I can not compare to a cat 9 however. Did you check to see if one of the obstructed view 7As are available? (6134,6634,7120,7620) We re-booked a 7A and booked 7620 for our cruise next year on the Magic.

Why are you in your cabin so much?

We had a veranda cabin once....walked out when we first got to the cabin... Never went out again.

All other cruises we purposely get an inside cabin to save money (and use that money to see and do other things!). When we cruise, we are only in the cabin to sleep. There is so much to do and see on the ship....plenty of places to sit.
If you want to sit and watch the water, get a beach front hotel room on land

We had a Navigators Ver. in Feb this year. Enjoyed it over a Oceanview porthole because you can take pics, get some air, have your coffee in the morning. Its semi-inclosed (is that a word?) so you can sit out therewhen its windy and the few times its rainey. You get a chair, small table, and a bench seat. very comfy. But as other posters have said we were only out therein the AM, and when the ship was docking or leaving port for pics. I think you'll enjoy it over a Porthole... have a great trip.

That's nice for you but not everyone vacations the exact same way. Some people spend a lot of time on their verandahs. We go out and watch the ocean every night and when pulling in to port. I live several hours inland so I want to be able to see the ocean when I'm on it and smell the salt air.

I paid $500 more to go from 9b to 7A. Price difference would have been close to $1000 to go for plexiglass veranda. I upgraded at the port in Feb. for only $230 to go from 9b to 5b (plexiglass) but didn't want to count on it for my June cruise. I really used the balcony a lot in the mornings, in port, and at sunsets. I could NEVER do an inside, as I do enjoy relaxing cabin time, but we really liked our 9B at Christmas. It was great to wake up and watch the water going by our window.

I just upgraded as well! I have not received a cabin # just a guarentee so i am not sure exactly what that means i guess i will see next week when i get there...Hope you are not disappointed! I am sure it will be great!
