Too cold to do a snorkelling excursion in Dec?!!

Hi guys!
I understand that the water at Castaway cay may not be very warm in dec....but will it be too cold to do a snorkel excursion in St Thomas, Cozumel etc?

I think it depends on what you consider cold. Being a Floridian, I won't get in the water unless it's in the upper 80s. When I was on CC in late November (Thanksgiving week), the water temp was mid-70s....too cold for me, but many others were snorkeling and swimming.

We were at CC in Dec of '08 and the water was great. I live in San Diego and the water was way warmer than here. I would think that you would find it very warm being from the UK.

We snorkeled over Christmas this past year in Cozumel and Grand Cayman...temp was fine.
