Tutto Gusto Reservations

Does anyone know when Tutto Gusto will begin accepting reservations?

Nothing is out yet and nobody's even been able to confirm that it will be taking reservations at all. However, it's been confirmed by the Disney Blog that this will be a table service restaurant.

I personally hope they never take reservations. Defeats the purpose of a walk-up wine bar, a bacari, where they serve small portions of food.

So does putting it on the dining plan, but it will be on the dining plan.

Nobody has said it will be walk up. She was likely hoping that it would be. Based on early descriptions, I didn't think it would be a full table service restaurant either. But apparently, it is. I do hope that there is a bar area that will take walk-ups only, who just want a glass of wine and a snack.

I'm sure there will be just a bar section where you can go for a drink and a quick bite.. like a tapas bar. However, if its going to be a full service restaurant also, they should have a section of for reservations as you can't have patrons taking up tables and just drinking.. and I'm sure that would happen frequently.

That's my hope as well. I'm already disappointed to learn that the place will accept the Dining Plan and will be considered a table-service restaurant. I just wanted it to be like a La Cava-type place, but with wine and cicchetti.

I'm sure there will be just a bar section where you can go for a drink and a quick bite.. like a tapas bar. However, if its going to be a full service restaurant also, they should have a section of for reservations as you can't have patrons taking up tables and just drinking.. and I'm sure that would happen frequently.

It happens at other restaurants too. One can go to the Brown Derby, be seated, and order only the martini flight. You can get a table at California Grill and order only wine. The only difference is that it may happen more at a bar that serves 200 wines and only a few small plates ... and it should.

It's being added. It will be in what used to be the lobby area of Tutto Italia, but Tutto Italia will return as well.

Possibly but people who want to have dinner at Gusto should be able to and not have to wait for people who are only drinking to leave the table.. that's what bar stools are for.

Does anyone know if there's a definite opening date yet? AllEars just says early May - DH and I will be in WDW for our anniversary on 5/5 and 5/6 and would love to dine here...

Ugh, it's a TS and on the dining plan? I'm much less interested in trying it. An ADR for wine is too over the top planning, even for me. I'll just have to booze it up in the open like a commoner at F&W.

I was really hoping Gusto was going to be sort of a 'La Cava' for the Italy pavillion ... so I'm not very excited with the dining plan table service stuff. We'll see how the reservation stuff works, but I was hoping for a place I could drop in on when I felt like it. I don't want to plan my wine drinking reservation weeks to months in advance.

They might have both a bar area and a separate dining area. Of course there isn't any way to know that right now. I know from what I had been reading about it previously I was kind of blindsided by the whole full service restaurant/dining plan thing.

I think blindsided is a good word for it, Nala.

I'll reserve judgment until we know more. We all know that Disney pressures its non-Disney owned restaurants to participate in the dining plan. It could be that this place felt the need to participate, but doesn't feel the need to cater to that segment. We don't know yet whether they'll take reservations, what the exact menu will be, or what a table-service credit will entitle a diner to. It could be that Tutto Gusto doesn't take reservations. It could be that the menu really will only be small plates, no entrée-sized portions. It could be that it's a lousy value on the dining plan (one or two tapas-sized plates per credit, for instance).

I don't think the Italy pavilion needs three table service restaurants. I think they need a casual restaurant (Via Napoli), a signature restaurant (a revamped Tutto Italia) and a bacari (Tutto Gusto). At least, that would be the outcome in my idealized little world.
