Will you also be on the TransAtlantic? I would so love to do one of those, but school schedules forbid it.

Nope, I will not be able to get that many days off from work. But I wish

Hi all:thumbsup2 We have just booked this cruise!!:cool1: There is me - Amy, dh Steve, and our two sons - Kai (who will be 9) and Lucas (who will be 6).

I have been busy trying to work out restaraunts for Florida in October as our 180 day mark is coming up soon but my Mum called today to say her and my Dad had booked for the cruise as well so gave me the bug again to start searching trip reports.
Good we have a few of us already on the cruise, will make planning a little easier with everyones help and more fun as well.

We are also in WDW during October - we book our ADRs on 4/14/12 - although we are not on the DDP this time, so only have a few character meals to book. Where are you staying?:)

I have been doing some research on doing port excursions and is it just me or does anyone else think that our time in each port is rather short? Does Disney extend the 'alll aboard' times as we get closer to sail away? I guess I just have to be patient....

We were on the Magic last Aug in the med - we absolutely LOVED the med ports - I dont recall the timings changing very much if at all though, and I think the days were long enough - just!!

I did the DCL 1/2 day tour on my own in Monte Carlo (we had planned to do it DIY as a family but there was an accident on the train line and the buses were unbelievably packed as a result - so we spent the morning wandering around Villefranche with the children and I booked the last minute tour in the afternoon for just me) - We plan to do Monte Carlo as a family this time as I loved it and im sure DH will too - and I think we'll book through DCL as their tour was fine & easy on the legs!! and asI am unsure whether the boys would enjoy the hill walking especially if we have the same 45 degree+ heat we had last year I think DCL might be the way to go here for us!!:thumbsup2

We stayed onboard at La Spezia last year, but will do the DCL tour of Pisa I think next time - the train sounds easy, but as I am being brave in both Rome and Naples - I will have at least a couple of care-free guided tour days!!;)

Last year we did DIY in both Rome and Naples (Pompeii/sorrento) through private car tour companies - but next time we plan to just take the bus to Rome and have a wander around the colliseum, spanish steps and Trevi fountain, and we'll take the hydrofoil to Capri, as it sounds easy enough.

Happy planning everyone!!:thumbsup2

I know I have a lot of time to go back and forth and back and forth again, but I'm really undecided whether to do tour or explore on our own. It's just me and DBF, but it will be our very first trip to Europe ever....

Oh well, like I said. Lots and lots of time. :)

Welcome Amy, Steve and family!

Kathy, We will also go back and forth as to whether to do excursions on our own or through DCL. I and dd2 are all for doing things on our own and hustling... I have even started walking a bit to get my trick knee and back in shape... but dd1 and husband are into being lazy. It is not likely that they will want to stay on the ship, however, so we will probably share private tours whenever possible. C'est la vie!

Hi all!

I have just booked for myself, DD (7) and DS (2) for this cruise next year! I cannot wait already!

This will be our first Disney cruise, but since travelling on a Princess cruise and hearing the Disney ship horn in every port - I have been determined to book!

Were in Windsor, in the UK, so its quite nice to share the excitement with others travelling from all over the world on the same trip. :grouphug:

Hi Guys just checking in.
I was wondering if Amy can remember how much the DCL tours were last time?

Planning and budgeting all at the same time. ;)

Hi Sarah and family. I'm glad to see you made the choice to switch, but I would be interested in hearing a comparison with other lines, having only been on DCL. For example, are meet threads popular on the other lines? I don't see roll calls on cruise critic as being as extensive as on here.

Hi Tony, not sure if you are cruising with us or not. I don't think we can get a good idea of what prices will be on the excursions until DCL releases them. The good news is that the dollar is a bit stronger on the euro (bad news for me, actually) and that the european economic crisis is bad enough that many tour companies may be willing to negotiate a little more on price.

Sorry should have made it clear. We are booked on the cruise, can't wait to start the planning. :)

Hi Tony, sorry not replied before - I will see if I can dig out anything from last years cruise - not sure whether we were given a price list for excursions along with the navigator - is that usual? If so, I will have it here somewhere!!:)

The only DCL excursion I booked was the highlights of monaco and montecarlo which was a half day tour (5 hours I believe) and I think it was something like $179 - but my memory isnt too good!!:goodvibes

Just switched to this cruise when I found out it was $1500 cheaper than the 8/10 cruise.

I will be glad to start a new thread, but before I do, does anyone have a suggestion for a name for our group? I can include it in our title of the new thread. It appears to be the last Med cruise of the season. Maybe some thing about a "Last Tango in Paris" but maybe something more spanish?

Last Flamenco in Barcelona

Hi everyone, I've just moved my booking from the 10 August cruise to this one as the price difference is quite something :cool1:

This will be my 3rd Disney Med cruise and I'm super excited 'Hi' to everyone on board so far

Cruising with me is my husband Leigh and DD Lydia (14)

Let the planning commence :woohoo:

Hi Tony, I love the Magic and the Med cruise is just wonderful. We had a Dis meet on the last cruise and it was nice to put a face to the names :cool2:

Thank you, I'm glad too, more money to spend onboard lol

Is it my Disney cheesy side that likes this one bet?? :rotfl:

I think a vote might work best. Although, when is too soon? Are we big enough yet?

There aren't many of us are there? Maybe a roll call on for the 1st page would be useful for example: Dis name, no in party etc
