We will be heading home for our first visit to the AKL - Kidani Village on FRIDAY!!! :cool1: So excited. We own at SSR, but wanted to try something new. Any tips for first timers? How is the pool area? Any tips are appreciated!:thumbsup2

Joining in!! I am going to be staying at Kidani in October and would love to know any info as well.

When you check in, see if there is a room available close to the lobby. It can be a bit of a walk if you are at the far end of one of the wings.

The pool area is great. It has zero point entry and there's a normal slide and a kids slide. There is also a kids water play area.

I recommend eating a meal a Sanaa. The food was delicious and if you get a seat near a window, you can see the animals out of the savanna.

I second the suggestion to request a room close to the lobby.

There are activities at Kidani Village and Jambo House for the children and they earn beads for doing them. It was lots of fun for our kids, but we found out about it late and had to do some fancy footwork to finish and get all the beads before our stay ended.

:)

If you do get stuck in the furthest end from Jambo, you can take the Pumba elevators to the garage and walk through the garage to save a long walk to the pool.

The beads are an excellent suggestion as well.

We are also checking in Friday to Kidani after 3 nights at BLT. I did not do online for AKV so I can ask for close to lobby, but we usually just take what we get.

Don't stress too much about walks and room requests (in my humble opinion). Even the farthest room is a pretty short walk compared to most other walking you will be doing in and around WDW. Plus, as mentioned, in the wing over the parking garage, the furthest rooms can actually save you time, depending on where you are going. Rooms there have the shortest total walk from your car to room of any resort at WDW.

AKV Kidanni is our favorite. This resort is at its best at night, both at the front of the resort, and in the savanah backyard. They have an awesome pool and water play area and bus service to the parks is great (you always have an empty bus to start).

My family and I LOVED our Kidani stay!!!( my DH was skeptical now his fav)
We requested lobby floor and got it, I only requested that because we had Savannah View and in my opinion it and the third floor is the best.

Kidani is much more laid back and quiet than Jambo. And thats what we liked about it even more, the parks are hustle enough for us.

Pool was fantastic, jacuzzi, kids play room, night vision! It is by far my kids favorite ( BC now in second)

We drive to and from parks, so the parking garage was great! Zip up the elevator with a very short walk to our room.

Boma and Jiko was great dining and a nice evening walk from Kidani.
Used Mara @ Jambo for CS too and was good.

Hope u enjoy as much as we did!

We are also staying in October (wait list just came through!!! :yay:) In the 2 BR villas, is the balcony the length of the room? It was when we stayed in the grand villa, but I wondered about a 2 BR.

We will also be there Oct 7th-14th in a 1 bedroom savanah view, we have never stayed there and looking forward to it. We will be there for our 25th wedding anniversary so the wife wanted to try here so if wife is happy I am happy, see what you learn in 25 years!!!!!!!!

We just stayed at Kidani the first time March 18-23rd.We loved the resort and the size of our one bedroom. However,we found the pool to be much warmer and more fun at Jambo House. We like being able to run into the Mara and get a snack while hanging out at the pool.

I'll be in Kidani for the first time in July. We have 2 studio rooms booked and I'm trying to find out if the studios have 2 beds in them or if we will have to open up the sleeper sofa...anyone know?

There is a pull-out sofa in all studios at Kidani
