Is there an official june car rental thread? if there is can someone please give me the link to it. I am courious to know what others are finding for prices. I'm getting really high ones!
Thanks

Just bumped it, although I don't think there is anything helpful in there.

Rates are sky high right now. Hoping they come down.

If you can get away with a mid-size SUV (think Ford Escape), Budget has a "Wendie Special" right now through their website. $202 (inclusive of taxes and fees) for a 7-day rental with that code. We were going to do 2 mini-vans (we have a large group), but we are saving 50% by booking 3 of those SUVs with the Wendie Special instead. It will do for now, but I am still looking and hoping the minivans will go down.

I'm looking for June too. I've got a minivan through Budget at $300. I'm hoping Alamo comes down to about $200.

I was wondering where the June thread was too! I posted on the May thread yesterday because I was subscribed to that one since we were originally leaving at the end of May, but now we are going in June. Here's the deal I posted:

Avis 7 day intermediate SUV for $124 plus taxes & fees which comes to $190 with taxes & airport fees after discounts are applied. Use Avis discount AWD S767700 and coupon MUWA130 good for $35 off. The rate will show at $159 and then the $35 coupon gets deducted when you pick up the car.

I used the AWD # today to move my reservation one day and added muwa030 coupon which is listed on the Avis website to get an escape for $162 with taxes and fees from the maingate location near AKV. It was for the 13th to the 20th

I just booked for 10 days June 1-11 for Standard vehicle at Dollar for $191 total including all taxes & fees. :thumbsup2 This was with no special codes at all. First saw it on Travelocity which I use for a general search and then booked directly at Dollar using my Dollar Express ID.

Right now the best I have is $461 for June 15-30 for Emerald Aisle/National midsize. Code is 8572130 (Flying Blue/KLM code). We need at least a full size car (which it sounds like is no problem with EA). Because we need 15 days, a lot of the codes out there (Budget & Avis for sure) are not valid; they have 14 day limits. I'd really like to just reserve a mini van or SUV (I really dislike cars... I have no idea why) but the prices are just too high right now. Hoping they go down as it gets closer to our travel dates.

Make sure you take off the capital letters that are in the front of the codes. Those just tell you which boxes to plug them into on the website. This code has been on the internet since January. I found it on slickdeals where many have had success with it. If you are renting for less than 7 days it may not work. The price will be higher for more than 7 days. It comes out to $22 per day for the first 7 days. When I tried it for 10 days, the last three days added $40 extra per day.

The code also works for $22/day weekend rental and it's good for Airport and non-airport locations -- expires 6/30. The code doesn't work for all cities but it does work in Orlando. :thumbsup2

Also, remember that the $35 off code isn't reflected yet in the total. That amount will be deducted when you pick up the rental.

Anyone have luck with a june rental with pickup at MCO but drop off near disney? I just need a car for 4 days and can ditch it once I hit disney but am getting crazy rates when I try to do this...

I just got a mini van for June 1-9 thru Dollar for Total of $325. That's with no codes. I put in a couple codes in in but they came up as same price. I was getting $500 for rentals so I'm happy for this, but I will keep looking.
I also got a full for a total of $190.

190 is good I'm heading over to the dollar web site now. Thanks for the heads up

Looks like Dollar is back up. What was $191 2 days ago is now $350! :confused3 Glad I booked when I did and hope it goes back down for those who are still looking for a lower price.

I have had the same problem. We are doing a split-stay off/on-site and want the car for 7 days and then to drop it off at the DCCC or the Swan/Dolphin and the rates DOUBLE when you try and do that. As if the rates for Alamo/National weren't already outrageous.

Right now we have a reasonably-priced rental with Budget and are just going to take a breath and have a couple of people from our party drive back to MCO with the two cars and take the ME back to the hotel afterward. It isn't ideal, but the minivans are $300 instead of $1000 each, which is what they want if we drop at Disney. :scared1:

Somebody in the May car rental thread was talking about how sometimes this all changes when the dates get closer, so keep that in mind. It could be the rates to drop at Disney will come down enough to be comparable or even just a little bit extra could be worth the convenience of it. Good luck!
