Just back from Saratoga Springs...

I just returned from a three night stay in Saratoga Springs... We stayed in Springs directly across from Community Hall which we loved!!!

All I can say is how are more people not completely in love with this resort?

It is beautiful - great picture opps throughout the resort... The staff was amazing...

My only complaint is that the bar closed too early on Friday for my liking.. LOL

I'm glad you had such a nice stay! We've stayed at SSR a few time, and have enjoyed each and every stay. However, there are many times I prefer to be near Epcot, MK or AK. It's just not important to us to be near DTD. I guess that's why it's not usually our first choice. We did do a THV stay with the DGC twice, and the THV was our first choice in those cases.

We love SSR. It is our favorite during the off season. The nights that the parks close early, we spent a lot of time at Downtown Disney.

I agree with you OP!!! We stayed there the first time on developer points and fell in love with it! So much so we did an add on there!!

Love Saratoga Springs! We had planned to stay there the end of this month, but our kids are joining us and they prefer VWL.

We stayed at SSR last summer and loved it. My DH and DD both requested it for this summer, so we are staying there for 5 nights this July. I really don't understand why it gets any negative reviews. We thought it was amazing and we are looking to add on there.

We booked our vacation there this year. We are going to become DVC members later in the year at Saratoga Springs. We cant wait we have stayed our last two trips at the All Star Music Resort and once at Port Orleans Riverside.

I agree, OP! It's such a lovely resort, so peaceful and beautiful. I love to be over in the crowds at DTD and then look over at quiet SSR knowing I'm going back there. I am always surprised by negative reviews too!

We love Saratoga Springs too!The grounds are beautiful and the pool activities are our favorite among all the DVC villas.(We've stayed at all except BLT.)

I so want to be back there now!!!

I love being close to DTD as we usually only do one or two parks a visit and moe relaxing by the pool / resort since we come four or five times a year.. (We are FL residents)

Glad to hear all the great reviews at SSR. We will be there in December. We are looking to stay at The Springs!! We heard it was near most things. Any comments?? It would be greatly appreciated!!

So glad you had a wonderful time. My DH and I love the grounds at SSR. We think it is so pretty and we love being so close to DtD and all the great restaurants there. However, we've found we're not a fan of the condo style resort. We much prefer hotel style with the interior A/C hallways. We have not yet stayed at OKW. I am not a fan of the SSR decor theming. I can't get past feeling it looks like my great granmother's house used to. IMO, There's nothing to get excited about. BUT it was very comfortable and functional.

We are at SSR right now and couldn't agree more! It has been a little while since we stayed at our home resort so we decided it was time. Each resort gives a different experience and that is what I love about DVC. Our first week was at BCV and loved being able to walk to Epcot, DHS and Boardwalk. Now we switched to SSR and love the relaxed, laid back feeling.

We had a short walk to the lobby and the Paddock Pool. Our second 3 days in a one BR in Congress Park were spent looking across the water at DTD. In the evening, we could hear music playing across the water while sitting on our balcony.

The only issue we had was when we wanted to go to the Paddock Pool from Congress Park. Taking a bus was not an option and it was quite a walk for someone with small children.

That's awesome that you enjoyed the resort, but I wanted to say that I think you can take an internal bus around the resort. I haven't been there in a couple of years, but last time we were there, you were able to do this. Maybe it has changed, though, so maybe somebody who has been more recently could verify.

I also agree -not that it gets a "bad" rap, more that it is under-estimated. We've stayed there twice and the staff might be the best overall, as a whole.
