It has been a while since we stayed at SS even though it is our home resort. My daughter and her family are going down for Easter and I was telling her that the air conditioner used to be on a motion sensor and it would get warm at night. I had found on these boards a way to override that and I had printed it out but for the life of me I can't find it and I have searched these boards and can't seem to find it here either. :confused3 Does anybody have those instructions to override the air conditioner (if that is in fact still a problem) and post it here so I can print it out and give it to my DS? :worship: Thanks all for your help. :dance3:

I just came home from SSR last night and I couldn't figure out how to make that AC thing work at all. The only time it ran was when I hit the power button and made 2 lines appear on the display. I personally found it too cold so I just ran the fan at night and turned it off. It stayed 75 in the room and we were happy. I would turn it on for a few minutes in the morning and we would be freezing getting out of the shower.

We live in Florida and keep our AC set at 74 except during the freezing winter and then it is set at 72 because my family isn't cold tolerant.

I've found most Disney rooms are comfortable for me at 74 degrees.

We couldn't figure out how to override it. I had saved numerous sets of instructions and none of them worked. We were ok in January but I am nervous about our May stay. We like to sleep in the cold and wake up easily if it gets too hot.

Thanks so much. I saved this on my computer so I will never loose it. :rotfl: We like it cool in the room when we sleep and also will wake up when it gets too warm.

I'm fairly certain those instructions are old and no longer apply. If the thermostat is a SensorStat, try this (taken from the SensorStat manual):

Soft Bypass
At times, it is necessary to bypass the energy management functions of the
system. To do this, press and hold the F/C button on the WDDC for 3
seconds and you will see bp (bypass) on the screen. The unit sends a
message to the RCU changing the settings so that it functions as a normal
thermostat with no energy management functions for 48 hours.
If it works, you'll need to do this every other day. I just do it every morning to make sure it still is in bypass mode.
