Has anyone tried Maya Grill lately? We have an adr the night we arrive at CSR. We figured Maya Grill would be very convenient, but I hope the food is decent. We have a 7:00pm adr.

Maya Grill gets mixed reviews. We ate there once. I liked it, but my wife and son didn't. Most of the menu is spicy Mexican style food. I like spicy food, but my wife and son don't. I would say the food is very good if you like that style of food. The service was great and the restaurant is very nice.

Yes, you can send a package ahead of time. You just need to pick it up in the mail room near the convention center. They close though, I want to say at 6:00pm or 7:00pm...your package isn't available 24hours, so if you have a late arrival, plan on getting it the following day.

Thanks, after re-reading what I wrote, I really didn't explain that well lol.

Hi hi! We're staying at CSR for the first time this year, and while I admit I'm a little intimidated by the size, I'm looking forward to something new.

I do have a question that I haven't seen answered yet. Sorry if it was and I missed it. Last year Port Orleans had a board where you could do pin trading in the gift shop, does CSR have one of those? I'm painfully shy so I thought the board was awesome. It also meant I didn't have to make my husband do pin trading for me. :rotfl:

They have two pin books at Ponchitos. You just have to ask one of the CM's. There is a book in the front and a book in the back where you pick up packages.

After much deliberation, officially joining! Switched our reservations to CSR yesterday. So excited. Staying 8 nights late Oct/ early Nov and hoping for free dining!

Here at Coronado now for our first time in the World. :cool1: So far it has been AMAZING. We got a great room (Cabanas 9b) without making any special requests. Our grocery delivery was brought to our room super quick, and also a microwave that we requested after we got here.

The parks have been awesome. We have been going super early in the morning. Yesterday we got to ride Space mountain twice in the morning and this morning at Epcot we got a fast pass for Soarin, rode Test Track twice in a row and did Mission Space all in the first hour we were here. Back to the room in the afternoon for some swim/nap time then off again to Epcot we go tonight for dinner and World Showcase. :wizard:

Just switched to CSR yesterday! We were booked at CBR, but I heard the cheerleaders would be invading our entire stay, so CSR it is! I haven't stayed here since its' opening year, and I can't wait to check it out. I know Casitas is typically recommended for couples, but we're requesting Cabanas for the beachy feel.

There will be 2 conventions during our stay. Do they stay in any particular section? Sorry if this was asked before, but I couldn't get through all 100 pages of this thread!

Many of the smaller conventions seem to be put entirely in the casitas for convenience, but they can be in all sections of the resort. You probably won't notice anything other than some people with name tags and maybe larger crowds at Pepper Market for breakfast.

can anyone request a microwave or is it for special needs only? is it a rental cost like the fridges were at the values?
lastly, anyone know if you can get a microwave at pop?

thanks!

Anyone can request a microwave at no charge. They are first come, first served. I don't know if Pop has them for request, but I think there is one at the food court.

A while ago, there was talk of Glen the Gator who has been spotted around the bridges. Has anyone seen a gator at CSR lately? We looked for Glen in 2010 but didn't see him.

Checked into CSR this morning. They were going to put us in the Casitas, but we requested either Cabana 8A or 8 B.

8A was unavailable, but they got us into 8B. Nice room.

Here's things I can confirm:
The coffee maker is the cuisinart pod coffee maker.
There are towels offered at the Dig Site pool.
There are life jackets offered at the Dig Sit pool.

Haven't been able to confirm the microwave deal yet.

CSR is nice, but big. Be prepared to walk.

One thing I found is that they won't offer any carts for you to move your luggage yourself due to safety concerns.

Any questions, ask me and I'll see if I can answer them.

Hi! Thanks for your post. Have you tried the coffee they provide for the cusinart? Is it decent?
Thanks

I just noticed the 2012 National American Spirit Pageants got moved from April to 5/31-6/3 while I am there.

Anyone have any insight as to how this may be felt in the resort? Is it a huge group? Do they take over? They haven't posted their 2012 schedule of events yet. I see Mario Lopez hosted last year's events but can't find any info on where it was held or what went on.

I'm growing concerned I made a wrong choice - today being the last day of the room only package deal, I'm a little freaked out!

Anyone have any insight?

We came back from CSR on Feb 5 and I cannot remember if I came back to report on our stay or not. If so, please forgive me for repeating.

We flew down on Friday night Jan 27 and landed at 7:30pm. Our big mistake was to allow the luggage to go on to the hotel on it's own. At the airport, we grabbed a bite to eat quickly and then went to get on the Magic Express. It seemed like we sat there on the bus forever until it finally got underway.

We arrived at CSR and checked in. Our request was hopefully 8A or 9B in Cabanas, but we received Casitas 5 which turned out to be a good thing. We loved Casitas and in fact, next time we are paying for a preferred location.

We got to our room, but our luggage did not arrive until after midnight. So we had to stay up and dressed because of greeting the bellboy, and also because I stupidly did not pack any pj's in the carry on's. We had a standard room with 2 queen beds and a rollaway for our son.

We ate most every morning at the buffet breakfast and loved it! So many little stations to get our food at. It was just like being on a cruise. And we loved that it was a counter service. We had the soft drink mugs also, but we did not bring them to breakfast because most of the time, we hit the restroom after breakfast and went straight to the bus to get to the parks. The only thing that was a pain was that Pepper Market did not open until 7:00 am (if I remember correctly) and there was a time or two we wanted to eat earlier so we hit the grab and go for muffins and cereal.

We also tried the Pepper Market buffet for lunch and then dinner once during the week. Loved the lunch buffet choices. Not so keen on having to order from a menu at dinner. The buffet really spoiled us.

The only thing about Pepper Market was that the 20% suggested tip was printed on the ticket....however, for a buffet, we have to be very pleased with beverage service to leave 20% of the entire meal cost. A few days we did, the rest of the days, we left slightly less than 20%.

We used the laundry facilities in Casitas 4. It was okay. Used 2 washers and split the loads into 4 dryers. It seemed to take a very long time. I missed all the pool time with my husband and son. They left the quiet pool at Casitas and went over to the Dig Site pool which they said was warmer. Our son won a couple of small prizes. I think one was for doing the macarana. (he's 6)

Bus service was great. Our bus stop was #2 at Casitas, but then we had the walk to bldg 5. Next time I'm really going to try to get preferred so we can just walk back to Casitas 1, 2, or 3. I hope that will still be the preferred locations next time we go.

For those of you who want to buy a loaf of bread......CSR does not sell bread. So we had to take a bus from the parks over to Wilderness Lodge which does sell a loaf of bread. In fact there you have a choice between a few different types.

The concierge was really nice. He printed off our boarding passes before we were to leave and he refused a tip.

The Magic Express back was easy. We checked our bags in with the airline right there at CSR. The bus driver had room for us on an earlier bus and we got to go to the airport slightly earlier.

can someone PM me the best request bldg wise to make for a family of 6 staying in 2 rooms with a van? I'd really like to be close to our bus stop and the dig site vs being close to the restaurants (I think? we can drive to the restaurants right?)

Not yet. We brought our own pods because we figured the supplied coffee might not be too decent.

Will wake family up in 45 minutes and I suspect the wife will try the machine.

Those are the exact days of our trip. Wondering if we should try and move resorts? I too, would appreciate any info on this as well.
