We are staying at BLT on points. I hope to go to the Top of the World Lounge.
I can't find very much information about it and, frankly, I'm impatient.

I know my imaginary friends here on the DIS will tell me everything I need to know and then some.

So, let's hear it (err, read it.) Heck, post some pictures of it if you have them.

TELL ME EVERYTHING!!!!!:surfweb:

Thanks.

We're here now too. Just go down to the 1st floor floor lobby and show them your room key. They'll key you up to the 16th floor, 5p-12a.

They'll let you take as many guests up with you as you want. We had a party of 12, they said no problem and we all went up.

Have fun!

Order the frozen strawberry margarita, it is seriously the BEST one I have ever had in my life:thumbsup2. They make it homemade and not from a rotating machine. Omg it was good.

Access depends on who is working the podium. Sometimes each person in your party needs to show their DVC Member BLT room key. Sometimes they ask for your DVC Membership card.

:earsboy: Bill

They checked our room keys but didn't ask for our membership card, but I have read as well this has happened to others.

It is a great lounge. We love it. We will definately being go back there on our Ocotber trip.

DH & I went in Feb. Just went to the first floor and asked to be taken upstairs. Not alot of seating at tables, if your party gets up for any reason, expect your table to be occupied when you return. We actually sat at the bar until the fireworks started. Then everyone went outside to watch the show. Great view of the fireworks! You actually can order food, but most of the patrons just ordered drinks.

The fireworks is what I'm most interested in!!!

So....no reservations? Was it crowded? How long did you have to stake out a spot?

We have an 11 year old and an 8 year old - any problems with people who may have imbibed too much??

The food isn't much, appetizer type stuff. The cheese plate was good!

It's a bar. Yes, there are going to be people drinking, some will drink more than others. But until fireworks time, there are usually a number of kids there.

No, not crowded at all. We walked right up and got a couch, table, and two stuffed chairs, and this was at 9:30pm.

When the fireworks started, most of us went outside to watch.

It was probably 60-70% kids of non drinking age up there. Drinking was not the focus for anyone that I could see, other than a cocktail to finish a long day. No drunks in sight.

There must be something in the coding on our room keys that designates us as DVC (it's not overt). They took a good look at the card then took us right over to the elevator, said we could take as many non members up as we wanted.

My wife and I have been there once and loved it. The drinks were good and at that time the place wasn't crowded at all. We were there in February so that's probably why.

Well, now my daughter wants to know....

can you see the fireworks from the pool?

OP, sorry to hijack your thread but I gotta ask those who have been,
What if you don't do elevators? How would you access the lounge?:confused3

No hijack. I think I just did that to someone's thread on the dining board. The discussion just leads you to other topics. Can't wait to find out the answer to your question, too.

JMO but I did not really enjoy the fireworks from TWL. I felt like we were way to far away to get the real "magical" feel. We only did because we were on our way back to resort anyway.
Love BLT though!

We are going to Sea World (shush, can I say that here?) for 2 days this trip. So I was thinking about going up there to watch the fireworks on the evening after we come back from SeaWorld.

I was there a few weeks ago. We were only at BLT for one day. It was great to go experience the magic when I didn't have a park pass. They didn't ask for any ID, we just came down from the North elevator to the 1st floor, met the cast member who lets people up to the TOWL.

The wine they served was quite generous. If I knew the margaritas were so delish, I would have tried that instead. I really enjoyed watching the fireworks from up here. We've seen the fireworks so many different times, it was nice to see it from a different vantage, and we are closer to the fireworks than those at California Grill, so it gave me a bit of a thrill.

I highly recommend this lounge. It's not so busy, it would be nice to have something like a pool table up there. Then you could do something and not just drink. But it has a really nice seating area with couches, and tables.
