September 2012

Relief is running through my veins ;)

Thanks it makes the planning so much easier to know we will have an income to pay for the trip :rotfl2: although the only downs side is he will be away for 2 weeks at a time i keep telling myself it is only for 6 swings and then we go away.

:eek:Did i mention this week that the tax department is auditing my education tax refund i was the lucky 1 in 12 to be audited and it takes them a minimum of 12 weeks :scared1::scared1: to check with centrelink that i was entitled to FTBA and can receive the tax education refund :confused3

Swings and roundabouts...good news and bad....congrats on the job and commiserations on the audit.......as i said....swings and roundabouts

WOW and here I thought the ATO did nothing  sorry

Sorry they're auditing you, even if you do the right thing there is always that little doubt in your mind that somethings been overlooked...

I'm sure it's all good :thumbsup2

When i rang them to see if i had to send my receipts they said no i dont have to do anything its all done on their end and all they have to do is check with centerlink i received FTB A that year i am not concerned i only claimed what i had spent i am just frustrated they take a minimum of 12 weeks and it now has me stressing about DH's tax return for whilst we are away whilst i dont rely on that for our trip i do rely on it being reconciled so centerlink reconciles my FTB as i overestimate so we get a lump sum of at least $5g:scared1::scared1:
So now i am number crunching to not rely on that for spending money and find another way to quickly pay for the Disney cruise in full for the discount fares :rotfl:

Hello :) we are not planning on traveling until September 2013 for our wedding in WdW! But I was wondering if you could tell me who you found to be the cheapest airline to Orlando and roughly if you don't mind the costs. We are just trying to give our guests as much notice as possible and wanted to include information about flights.
Thankyou all so very much, I extremely jealous that your going this year!!

DH started work on Thursday :woohoo: last night the dammm cyclone went over them :scared1::scared1::scared1: not much sleep i can tell you, happy to report they are all safe and back at work today :yay:
:rolleyes1I can honestly say i am counting down for March to be over surely April will be a touch more uneventful:rolleyes1

7 minutes til I can do my online dining...180 days exactly:rotfl2:

planning obsessive much??:surfweb:

so, here we are again.....

I just put a bid/ resale for 60 DVC points at Vero beach, taking our DVC points to 220....I'm in shock ..I need to put my head between my knees....

damn you Aulani...you made us love you, and now we need 164 points to do that for a week in a pool view studio....

what has this to do with sept planning...nothing I guess.... squirrel! :rotfl:

So at 6pm I was all set to book my ADR after Months of looking at options...

AND

The online resevration system refused to accept my reservation number so I could only book my rservation for the first night.

I then waited .... Tick tock.. Tick tock.. Thinking all the bookings for Cinderellas royal table would be gone by the time 7pm came around.

At at 7pm I got throught o Disney Dining and with the help of a cheerful very helpful cast member booked all the ADR's I wanted wihtout a problem.

So here they are;

Day 1 arrive Orlando 3.50pm take ME and hopefully get to the WL by 6pm, booking made for Whispering Canyon Cafe at 6.45pm
Day 2 Epcot lunch at Akershus Banquet hall for lunch at 12.05pm
Day 2 Hollywood studios day butlate start with Chef Mickeys for breakfast at 9am
Day 3 Magic Kingdom Crystal Palace pooh and friends lunch at 12midday
Day 4 Animal Kingdom no TS booked yet - Any ideas??
Day 5 going to Space Centre
Day 6 day off with Ohana dinner at 5.20pm
Day 7 BBB at 9.30am for Breanna (6yo) then lunch at 12midday at Cinderellas Royal Table ( just me, Megan and the Girls 6yo and 1yo while the boys do Disney Quest )
Day 8 no TS booked
Day 9 Mamma Melrose booked for early dinner at 5pm with fantasmic package

Still have 4 TS credits for everyone left after these bookings so suggestions for what we should do with them and any good QS places would be appreciated. I was thinking 1900 park fare? Another night at Whispering Canyon, ? Garden grill.

It was frustrating not being able to book online but actually quite exciting to talk to someone at Disney - made it all seem so REAL!

Looks great! Only thing I would change was Hollywood and Vine, it's really just a restaurant we would go to if WDW were offering it for free, no wait, we still wouldn't go there :rotfl:
No seriously, it's not that bad, but we are big TS eaters, like 3 meals a day so we have been to a large number of the WDW TS restaurants and to be honest. H&V is the only one that we would not rush back to, unless it changed. We just found the food to be very very average/below average. The last time we went, we did every character meal. Actually aside from Boma breakfast, almost every breakfast was a character meal and this one was really disappointing, when the others were so good. It may have had something to do with the characters, my DS was not into them, so that may cloud our opinion. If my DS was really into those characters, then we would probably do it again for him .
So if your son is into those characters then he will love it :thumbsup2

TRex is great, Rainforest is good. Oh I can really recommend "The Wave" dessert at Coral Reef :cloud9: YUM!

You've got a good selection of meals there :goodvibes

Another one (or two, or three) if you were needing more are the breakfast at Ohana's (that is our favourite, aside from Boma). Tusker House breakfast is really fun and 50's Prime Time Cafe is great too (really good milkshakes and fun atmosphere)

It'll be a late dinner but i'm pretty sure i'd regret it if he found out there was a restaurant called T-Rex and we didn't eat there, kids and their dinosaurs ;)
As I type he's sitting there with a plaster egg digging out a dinosaur :thumbsup2

Hollywood and Vine we're doing as a character meal, he loves Handy Manny (well he did, maybe i'll delve further )

168 days until we fly :thumbsup2

This is going to be a long wait...

becpee congrats on a great start with your ADR's.

It'll be a late dinner but i'm pretty sure i'd regret it if he found out there was a restaurant called T-Rex and we didn't eat there, kids and their dinosaurs ;).

How late is late? We've also booked T-Rex for that Friday but at 6pm.

I'm looking for something for 2 boys, 8 & 6. Has anyone done the "Bayou Pirate Adventure" at POR? I'd really appreciate some suggestions.

My daughter, 11 is keen to "Dine with an Imagineer". Whilst it indicates 10years and older, I'm hesitating about whether she is old enough. Any thoughts?

TRex is great! I went just myself and DS and then again with friends and we all loved it! Adults and Kids! I would go again if it were just me (although that would be a bit embarassing, I will always have to travel with DS so I don't feel stupid going to a dinosaur restaurant :rotfl: ). But the food was really good too, both times. Your DS will LOVE it!

Hollywood and Vine we're doing as a character meal, he loves Handy Manny (well he did, maybe i'll delve further )

If he loves Handy Manny then he will love it! :thumbsup2 and with a bit of luck it may have improved, food wise. But you know, we don't do character meals for the food, we do it for the atmosphere and for a child that loves Handy Manny (that lion character is cute!), then it would be a great meal.

I looked into the Pirate Adventures for my DS (they have one from Yacht Club and one from Grand Floridian too) and I saw them going off once and it looks awesome! I just didn't do it because they serve peanut butter sandwiches and with a peanut allergy, they wouldn't serve another meal and they also "suggested" that DS not do it (or that we weren't really welcome :sad1:)

My DS did Pirates League at MK park. My friends did BBB at the same time so they were all dressed up together, then we went to the halloween party that night and the kids were all dressed up. It was a fantastic experience. Totally different to the Pirate adventure but it is another option for your DS.

I would ask the question about your DD doing the DWAI (that's at Brown Derby isn't it? :confused3 ) over on the Dining board (in the WDW section) about someone her age doing it, you are more likely to get lots of responses from those who have actually done it and also those with children who have done it . If she is interested in that sort of thing it could be an amazing experience. I suggested it to a friend who was going with her 14 year old DS as he is very into art, cartooning and design and from what I've read you can ask lots of questions.
