We are going to try and book flights out of BDL. They have better prices than Logan for our trip and it's only maybe another 15 minutes longer to get there than Logan.

Does anyone have any experience in the long term parking around there??? We would park from a Sat to a Sat.

Thanks so much!

I have always parked at the Galaxy lot, and have never had a problem.
Their rates are good and they offer AAA discount.
They are located between The Roncari valet lot and the Teletrack, very convenient to the terminal and never had to wait long for the shuttle.

We use Roncari Valet every trip. They are the closest to the airport and offer a good AAA discount. They are also connected with Galaxy Self Park. Website is www.roncarivalet.com. If you are coming from a distance and will be staying at a hotel for the night there are several on the road just before the airport that offer parking for your trip if you stay there. The Holiday Inn Express offers 7 days of complimentary parking and charge 7/day for trips over.

We used the long term lot for the first time last year and it cost around $60 for the week. I just booked our December flights on JetBlue out of Hartford after seeing the price difference at Boston. Book without worry.

Thanks for this! We have an EARLY flight so this may work out perfectly. I'm just wondering how much time I might want to allot for the shuttle to the airport in the morning???

I booked our flights yesterday and actually posted about it. For anyone who can get to Hartford instead of Logan you can save $$$! we paid $250 rt for 4 of us and Logan was at $310. It's only another 20 minute drive for us compared to going to Logan so it was a no brainer. Even if we end up staying overnight, we will still be saving $ compared to Boston. ( we would pay for parking regardless )

No idea how often the shuttle runs from the hotel but from the Holiday Inn Express to the departure terminal will be less than 10 minutes even if you have to stop at every traffic light along the way.

If you go to the website www.parksleepfly.com you can put in Hartford and all of the hotels close to the airport will come up and they also list how many days of parking they will give you. Also, the Holiday Inn Express has changed names. The new name is listed on the site but it also tells you that it was formerly the Holiday Inn Express. I know several people that have used the hotels in the area and no one has ever had any trouble with shuttles. My guess would be that you tell them what time you want to leave for the airport and they will have the shuttle waiting.

my mother and son fly from there.. my mother always uses a park n fly near there.. it's a little more money but the car is , imo, better protected.

Thanks Everyone! I had my hubby check everything out last night. He is a lot more particular than I am ( I always look at the glass as half full and he...well...doesn't! :lmao:) .

He wants to stay/park at the Sheraton right there at the airport. It's more expensive than most of the others but it's also in a parking garage. We are going in December so he thinks it would be nice if we had snow that he wouldn't have to clean off the car.
Plus, he LOVES the convenience of literally being steps away from the terminal.
It's our twin DD's first flight so being able to watch airplanes come and go would be a blast for them!
I'm going to leave it up to my hubby....one less thing on my to do list the way I see it! :rotfl:

Good Idea!!! We have stayed there a few times when we had an early flight and young grandkids . . Well worth the $$$$. Enjoy your trip. I just booked Dec.11-18. We have never been at DW for the holiday decorations . . . can't wait!

Thanks for telling me that jfelcie!!!

We will be there about the same as you 12/8-12/15!

Our departing flight is at 7 am. Being right there at the airport does seem like the easiest thing to do.
Can you tell me....how early should we head down to the gate? We haven't flown in like.....forever!
We had planned on 2 hours prior BUT on BDL's /Jetblue site it said one hour.

Would be nice to sleep a teensy but. (like that's possible! )

We travel out of BDL for every trip and have never gotten to the airport more than an hour and a half early. Most of the time its is a little less than that. Since we fly on the first flight of the day for the airline the security lines are never very long and since we do all the check-in/luggage on-line it really isn't that long of a process to get through. With being at the airport you should have plenty of time to check luggage, clear security and get any food/drinks/bathroom stops in an hour.

Thank you!!! That's a HUGE help. I was so worried about getting the kids breakfast.
Like I said...I haven't flown (nor has my hubby) since we were in HS (forever ago) and have no clue how it all works now.
