Back to the Med Greece/Turkey in 2013! Complete!

The airfare is DCL's. If you go to www.disneycruise.com and plug in your dates and then click on continue, you get the option to add airfare. It'll show you the price.

That's a great idea about visiting his store in Edmonds! We actually go up to Seattle every few months.

I went and looked at this and today it's $1798.00 from Seattle as well. The problem with this is that if you want pre/post stays, I'm pretty sure you have to reserve thru DCL. Which means a really, really expensive room (s).

And if you've got any dates scheduled to head toward Seattle, look here :

Hm. But his camera was just floating? Pics, please.

Yes the camera just floats in the bottom of my pacsafe bag but it fits well and everything else fits too. Mine is an olmpus dslr and a small lenses on it. I like the bag but I'm not a serious photog. In fact my camera mostly stays in the bag despite my best intentions. Lol.

So today, 3 Spanish workbooks arrived in the mail. The vocabulary is going well, but trying to retain conjugation facts while listening to an audio track is so NOT going to happen! I got Ashleigh her own kid-oriented book, and got Sean and I a verb tenses and pronouns and prepositions book. Came upstairs to make copies to start doing an exercise......and here I am. I will get to it, but I figured I'd stop in here for minute and say "hi"!:wave2:

My sister and I plan to do all ports on our own so we just got the Italian Rosetta Stone. It's going well so far (even though I've only done a little over an hour). You can have five learners on one program so I'm going to make my 12 year old start it as well. I'm sure she won't want to because she'll be stopping every two minutes to text her friends! I'll just have to take her phone away while she does it. She will hate that! :lmao: But a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do! We just want to be able to make an attempt at asking directions if we get lost and to learn a few pleasantries. I have a rare day off in the middle of the week and DD is at school and Vince is at work so I also had every intention of cleaning today but so far I'm still in my pajamas and sitting on the computer! :rotfl2:

One day, I too will have to go to work...still waiting to find out when that will be :lmao:

Well, rats, I hadn't thought of that. Since we're doing the transatlantic we're thinking of the Med cruise as our extra days.

Thank you for the link :thumbsup2

Y buena suerte a los estudiantes de espanol!

Thanks! I did get a few worksheets done the other day. It went pretty well. Didn't do any yesterday.....ended up working a 15-hr shift! Today's been a recovery day. I was a bit tired....

So here we are in CA, and the weather followed us here.. Sigh.

We went to an REI today for Sean, so I got to look at more bags. The Click Elite one I'd previously mentioned was there! Unfortunately, it's too small for my needs. The pics on the manufacturer's site looked promising, but that model must be seriously short. Shorter than me. So now I think I'm looking at this one:

http://www.clikelite.com/products/pro-express/

Looks huge, but so did the other one. I found a YouTube video demoing this one being stuffed full of camera gear and a MacBook, so I know that my stuff will fit. Now I need a sale on it........

Just an FYI. Rick Steves is having a Facebook blow out sale, 20% off certain bags until tomorrow night I believe. Oh and free shipping too.

Thanks for this!

From his Facebook page:

I’m unpacking from my road trip, and, I admit, I really packed heavy. (It just seemed right with my gas-guzzling American SUV.) I’ll also admit that I really loved the bags I used. To celebrate the safe and happy end of my Road Trip USA--and to get me in the mood for packing smart and light on my upcoming Europe trip this spring--this month’s Facebook blowout sale is all about my line of Rick Steves bags.
*
From now until 5 p.m. PDT, Wednesday, March 28, get 20 percent off of any bag in my Travel Store plus free standard shipping (US destinations only). That means, for example, our Convertible Carry-On (which I live out of in Europe for four months each year) is yours for just $80 including shipping, compared to the normal $100 plus $11 shipping--so you save $31. And our popular 21-inch Roll-Aboard (which I actually do love and know will make growing old so much more graceful for me) is just $120 including shipping, rather than the regular $150 plus $15 shipping--a $45 savings.
*
So, for 20 percent off on any bag plus free shipping (which can cover anything else you might want to purchase), go to our Travel Store and use the promo code: EUROPE at checkout.
*
Spread the news! This is good for Facebook friends, and their friends, and their friends.
*
Remember, there are a lot of you, so if the shopping cart is slow, just check back.

Happy travels!

Hi all!

Spring braeak in CA at my dad's house! We've had a very nice visit and are here another 2 days before having to head back home.

This afternoon, I took dad on a virtual tour of DCL's website and showed him how he was able to pull up his reservation and how to get info on the site. Showed him some of the research I've been hard at work on :rotfl:, and reviewed some of the tour ideas I had. Ahhhhhh.....trip planning with a newbie! Warms the cockles of my heart! Is it next year yet?

Wow - how far we've come in just two cruises:rotfl2:

I remember when you were a newbie....

I thought I might mention this on the chance that there are any other Pacific NW'ers out there. There is a Pacific NW Mouse meet out this way in August:

http://www.pnwmousemeet.com/

This is the 4th year of this gathering. I've been at two of the last 3 and plan to be at this year's as well. The only reason I missed the one was.....because of the last Med cruise! I was on my way to Barcelona! Take a look at the guest speaker list and you'll wish you were there, too! My guess is that there will be Dole Whips again as well......

For any of you skeptics out there, the first year I went I thought there were going to be a lot of crazies there, but the vast majority were perfectly normal! (like me, right :rotfl:). Anywhoo, Sean's waiting on something at work to be scheduled to see if he can actually join me this time. the speaker list is that good! Ashleigh went with me the first year in 2009 and enjoyed herself.

CA visit over tomorrow :sad1:. We'll be on the road early to get out of town....always good to get home but sad to leave.....

There's no place like home...there's no place like home...Always great to visit and sad to leave, but again, there's no place like home!

Still getting caught up on stuff, but I did want to mention that I purchased my Mouse Meet tickets, and wanted to let anyone who may be interested in this that they are more than half sold out. So if you're thinking about it, don't put it off too long...

And, if anyone is looking to replace any of their luggage before the trip, I might suggest that you make your way over to the REI outlet website. They have added new Eagle Creek stuff to their outlet site. I may have mentioned this previously, but we replaced ALL our luggage in the 2 years prior to the cruise. Of our 5 cases (3 large and 2 carryon), only 1 is not an Eagle Creek. It is a Samsonite duffle that we randomly found at Costco and have never seen again. We tried to save a few dollars on one case and bought a High Sierra, but one trip to Cincinatti and the handle ripped off. So, it went back to REI (they have a fantastic return policy!!!!). So we have a 2nd duffle to go with the above mentioned, a 25" case with a removable backpack (never know when it might come in handy..., a 22" standard carry-on, and a more squat/square-ish carry on. Add a camera case to the mix and that's what we travel with. And no, I still haven't bought a new camera bag yet. Just spend a butt-load of money on our plane tix for our trip East this August. :good vibes

Let me know if any of you all would like suitcase pics. I can oblige! :) In fear of luggage being lost, we actually arranged whole outfits together and then spread them across all the suitcases! It took forever to arrange, but had anything bad happened and a case had gotten lost, any case that made it to us would have a few outfits in it for all 3 of us. My spare room bed had stuff covering it forever!! :lmao:

Hoep you all are having a great Spring Break!!

For those of you not on the meet thread for the June 15 cruise next year, I thought I'd link this TR here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2761025

One of the people on our meets thread dug this up, and I spent the majority of my afternoon and evening going thru it. I didn't focus on any of last year's Med TR's....too depressing to see how fabulous they were. But, if you read thru mine and looked at my pictures, you'll see that there were a lot of similarities. I saw so many photos that were nearly identical! I also gleaned a few tidbits that will be applicable to our traveling party that I'm going to have to give some thought to. In short: read as much as you can to be prepared!!!! Also, if anyone else has any 2011 TR's that the want to bring forward, please post them here!! All the 2007 ones have their own sticky, but I think we need to amass a bunch of links and get the mods to do one for 2010-11. Any opinions?

And it brought up another OCD topic for me: clothing (to be continued in a different post...)!!
