Has the Magical Express process changed?

I haven't received a packet from ME like I normally do. I recieved my normal Disney packet that included the yellow luggage tags, however, no ME vouchers are included in it. Should I call ME? If so, does anyone have the number? TIA!:thumbsup2

The number is posted under one of the ME stickies at the top of this page.

Was there a pamphlet with the yellow luggage tags? The vouchers are in the pamphlet. It would be odd that the yellow tags would go out without the pamphlets.

The person filling the order may have forgotten to put the vouchers in.

New vouchers will be printed as needed when you get to the welcoming area.

Your normal Disney packet with souvenir luggage tags (if a package) is different/separate from and is sent separate from your DME packet.

If you have the long narrow yellow DME luggage tags, you did get your DME packet and since those generally come in the same booklet as the vouchers, it sounds as if there was a glitch in generating your specific booklet; and yes, a simple call today will get you a new set of vouchers.

But you may not have your DME information at all, and it'll be arriving in the next few days. It can't hurt to call that number and make sure you have reservations.

If the yellow tags came with your Mickey Mail, look in the package booklet. WDTC has incorporated the ME vouchers, map, and info into the booklet for packages booked after a certain date and they look the same as all the other voucher pages in the booklet. No separate ME booklet on the new system.

If those pages are missing from your Mickey Mail booklet, call ME or you can just get the vouchers printed at the ME counter in MCO.

Note that "Mickey Mail" is not an official designation, just what most of us call the final mailed packet that comes from WDTC with your package information, souvenier luggage tags, etc.

What exactly did you actually receive?? You say you got your usual packet, with DME tags, but no voucher?? The way the packet works is that your address, on the rear of the info booklet, shows through the window of the envelope it is all inside. Then, when the booklet is taken out, you will find a page with up to four travel vouchers on it. That was the case when I used DME in Dec...doubt it has changed since then.
There will be no piece of paper that is separate from the booklet, with vouchers on it.
If that isn't what you got, I'm confused as to how they got the yellow DME tags to you. There is no address on them for mailing purposes.

I just called ME (thanks, SeashoreCM for the #) and they did send the ME vouchers in the same packet with all the other vouchers. I normally get two separate packets but this time I only received one. I'm not sure this is a new process but I thought I'd share just in case anyone else has this happen. ;)

I'm glad I found this thread - I was just thinking today that by now I've usually rec'd my DME packet. I didn't realize everything all came together in one mailing now - good to know!
:goodvibes

I booked my flights thru Disney. Will my tickets for them be in the package from Disney as well?
Thanks :flower3:

All flights are ticketless now, in your Mickey Mail only the flight # and times will be noted. The Disney documents are very lax in this regard. There is no other flight documentation.

You can call Disney and ask for the "airline's record locator" for your reservation, then go on the airline's own website and print out an itinerary/ticket receipt for your party.

You would never get ME vouchers and ME yellow tags in separate packets; as PP stated, the address showing in the window in the envelope is the voucher booklet. They come about 45 days out.

The reservation package packet comes out about 30 days out, if you have a package reservation. That has the complimentary baggage tags as well as your vouchers for any extras and your itinerary. They usuallys come from a different area of reservations.

I have seen no changes in the last few years.

Silly question...

We have a DVC reservation (members, not rented) for 15 people in 2 villas at the same resort. How many DME packets should I plan to receive in the mail?

For my Dec trip, I got two packets (one with the luggage tags and pkg vouchers and then a few days later the DME booklet with vouchers). For our Feb trip everything came in one big blue/white envelope (yellow DME tags, plastic luggage tags, and just one booklet with the DME vouchers mixed in with the other vouchers for free watercraft, Planet Hollywood souvineer and $15.00 coupon, arcade vouchers, etc). Everything is sent in one envelope now.

My trip is in 32 days (not that I'm counting :rotfl:) and I havent received anything yet except a mailing not long after I booked with my itinerary. Should I have gotten the DME packet yet or do I just continue to be patient (not a virtue of mine lol). Also, how soon do I wait before I contact Disney? Thanks :)

You should have had the phone number right there, in the packet you received. It has always been this way...one packet with vouchers inside the booklet and yellow luggage tags for DME transfer.

As noted, tickets are now all electronic. You will need to go to the airline websitie and print out your boarding passes. Or, you can probably wait until you get to the airport...the old fashioned way.

Depends on who the lead person was...the one making the reservations. I know that generally speaking, they send out one packet...then it's up to that person to get everyone else their tags and vouchers. Last Oct, I booked two studios, for two couples...and I got all the DME stuff sent to me, even though it was two different family names and addresses on record.

Unfortunately, everyone seems to be confusing their 'Mickey Mail' with DME mail...and these two things come from two different areas. Those that have booked a package...room, tickets, dining for instance...will get one mailing with souvenier luggage tags. These usually have the Castle or such on them and they are hard, reusable plasticd. You will also get your room reservation itinerary, and minigolf and arcade vouchers. Then you should get another mailing, from DME, with your info booklet with vouchers and the yellow tags.
Now...if you book through a TA, you may very well get them altogether since the TA owns that reservation until you are at the resort checking in. The TA would put all the various mailings together and give them to you.

But, generally speaking, these two mailings don't get lumped together. The Mickey Mail (package stuff) comes from Disney Travel. DME packet comes from, well, DME aka Mears. A whole different entity.

Your DME can come at any time from 4 weeks prior to travel. If you get to about 23 days out, and haven't seen anything, call DME directly. You need to see if they have you in their system. If not, they can add you and get the stuff mailed to you. Calling them directly cuts out the middle man, and you tend to get better results.

There are some instances where you may get two DME mailings. If you are changing resorts during your stay for instance. They will send you arrival stuff, with tags. They will also send you another packet as if you were checking in for the first time at this resort. The times that I have, for instance, changed resorts midtrip...arrived at BLT and them moved to BWV and left from there, I have gotten two packets. One for my BLT arrival, with yellow luggage tags. Then, a day or so later, I get the second one...for arrival at BWV, but with no luggage tags. Well, one time they did send me another set of luggage tags, but no need for that. The second packet had my correct departure info, whereas the first packet had 'incomplete info' written in the departure area.

Thank you for your answers! :thumbsup2

As I said, I guess I should have been more patient, I got everything in today :lmao: . I had called and booked directly with Disney and in my packet was a copy of my itinerary, souvenier tags, DME tags, DME vouchers and discount vouchers. So excited!! Now I just have to keep myself from packing a month early LOL.

Not anymore. When doing a pkg I have always received two separate pkgs, but for our Feb trip we received only one. I booked over the phone through Disney. The yellow DME tags were in the same envelope with the plastic luggage tags. The DME vouchers were in the booklet with the rest of the vouchers (right behind the Photopass card and in front of the arcade, guided fishing, child activity, mini golf vouchers. There was also a small map showing where DME was located at MCO.

I go to WDW several times a year and this past Feb was the first time, I have ever seen the DME vouchers in the same envelope with the Walt Disney Travel Company booklet. The booklet had a little girl hugging Minnie Mouse on the front and at the bottom right hand corner it says Walt Disney World Travel Company, but on the lower left hand corner it says Disney Magic Express. I also did a pkg this past Nov/Dec and for that pkg I did receive two separate envelopes (one with the plastic luggage tags and vouchers, then a few days later another with the DME tags and travel vouchers), but for the Feb trip they were all in the same envelope.:confused3 I called Disney to book both trips. I never use a TA.

Well boo, I'm a couple days ahead of you and still nothing here - patience is not my virtue:lmao::rotfl:
